Selestino “Sal” Garcia lived out the final day of his life on February 25, 2014 in the home he built in Santa Clara, CA. Sal was born in Clovis, CA and moved to the Santa Clara Valley with his family in the 1930’s living in Saratoga and Los Gatos. He served his country during WWII and fought in the Pacific aboard the U.S.S. Farenholt DD 491 from 1942-1945. He married Rose Frausto (deceased) in 1949 and along with his brothers, built the home they lived in for over 60 years. Together they raised two daughters, Yoli Edwards (Randy) and Margo Garcia (Kevin). They had two granddaughters, Sarah Rose Edwards and Elizabeth Mary Edwards (deceased). He worked at Cupertino Electric for 28 years and was a founding member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church and the Guadalupe Society. He was “Uncle Sal” to many. This great man will be missed by all who loved him very much. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 5-9PM with Rosary at 6PM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10AM at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 1971 Saint Lawrence Dr., Santa Clara. Interment to follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara.
