Jacqueline Stenman

Jacqueline (Jackie) June Stenman, born on October 24, 1941, peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 10, 2024. She is survived by her son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Susan, along with her grandchildren: Megan, Leyton, and John Stenman. Jackie is also survived by her siblings, James Helwig (Barbara) and Janet Barabe (Al), as well as her nephews Michael (Kathlene), Russell (Carrie), Scott (Melissa), and niece Tara (Steve) and their children.

Born and raised in Chicago, Jackie moved to Fox Lake during her high school years. It was there that she met her husband Allan (deceased), whom she married in 1962. The couple soon relocated to California to begin a new chapter of their lives near Allan’s family.

Jackie was a woman of profound faith, known for her hard work, integrity, and unwavering love for her family, friends, and dogs. She found joy in the little things of life and was a true survivor, having bravely battled breast cancer.

She showed us how to live with love, gratitude, forgiveness, and grace in our lives. She had a fulfilling career in finance and accounting that she truly loved. She was passionate about music and enjoyed singing in her church choir. In her free time and throughout her retirement, she dedicated herself to quilting, gardening, reading, and tirelessly serving others as a volunteer at Kaiser Permanente, the Santa Clara Public Library, and the St. Paul Lutheran Preschool. Despite the challenges she encountered in life, she leaned on her faith and her community, choosing to focus on the positive aspects of life. She taught us to find joy in the little things - from a simple flower or small piece of glass art to the beauty of the ocean and mountains. While we will miss her dearly, we find comfort knowing she is at peace.Her greatest joy came from her family, who were the center of her life. Jackie will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

In the end, she was Mom, Grandma, Sister, Auntie, Cousin, and a friend to all.

A Celebration of Life for Jackie will be held at the home of Michael and Susan Stenman on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Jackie during this informal gathering.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM PST at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at 1075 El Monte Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94040.

Guests are warmly invited to join the family for a light luncheon following the service at the Lima Family Mortuary Banquet Hall, located at 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050. This venue is situated across the street from the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, where the burial will take place.
