Helen M. Ortiz

Surrounded by family, Helen passed peacefully on April 12, 2013 at Bruceville Terrace in Sacramento at age 80. Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Helen was a native Californian and was born in the Central Valley as part of a large and loving family. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in San Jose, worked as a nurse’s aid (CNA), and for the Del Monte Company, and volunteered for various food banks and senior centers after retirement. Helen loved fishing and camping, loved to gamble (she won several big jackpots), and had a wonderful sense of humor.

She is survived by her 3 children, Dolores (Marty) McCann, Tom (Vicki) Pender, and Barbara (Mark) Jankowski, 2 step-children, Reggie and Betty Anne, 5 grandchildren, Marty Jr. McCann, Valeana (Alan) Guillemain and Jason, Julia and Christopher Pender. 3 great-grandchildren Issac, Monique and Matthew Guillemain and 5 brothers and sisters. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff at Bruceville Terrace for the loving care they provided. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:30AM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara.
