Gary was born in San Jose, CA to Frank and Josephine Farfan, and was an only child. His parents were quick to notice his love of music, which began at an early age. He loved to play the piano and was quick to start playing it whenever he spotted one in a store. He then turned his love for music to a guitar and owned one that he constantly played growing up.
Gary loved dogs, especially German Shepards. He owned a few throughout his life. However, there is nothing he loved more than his family. He cherished all the memories he made and moments he spent with his grandchildren.
Gary was the founder and visionary behind Prestige Homes. He brought a wealth of experience to all his real estate transactions. As the Broker Owner of Prestige Homes, Gary understood that real estate was more than a business; it was about helping people realize their dreams and obtain them. His success was not measured by the sales volume alone, but more importantly by successfully helping his clients navigate one of the largest and most complex business transactions they would encounter. A respected leader in the field of real estate, Gary Farfan contributed significantly to the industry. He was chosen by the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors to become a member of the Broker Outreach Committee. As a volunteer in that position, he was committed to the betterment of his profession, as well as the enhancement of the community. Gary was the president of the Hispanic Association of Real Estate Professionals from 1999 to 2000.
Gary was a straight shooter who stressed integrity and honesty. He was a confident man and a people person. He loved to talk to everyone and would leave a lasting impression on those he met. This is why he was given the nickname, Mr. Mayor. He had a charisma that lit up any room he walked into.
In 2016 he married the love of his life, Dorothy. They built their custom home together and created a great life. He adored everything about her and gloated about her being his soulmate. He helped raise Dorothy’s son Alexander whom he loved as his own. His love for his daughter Lisa was extraordinary, and he was so proud of the mother she became. He doted on his grandchildren Jordan and Gianna, and they were his everything. There was no measure to the amount of joy they brought into his life.
Even though Gary was taken too soon, he lived a remarkable life surrounded by people that adored him. Gary leaves behind his wife, Dorothy, his daughter, Lisa (Farfan) Santiago; his stepson Alexander Scocci, his two grandchildren, Jordan Santiago and Gianna Santiago, and his son-in-law Kenneth Santiago, Jr. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Farfan.
Gary Farfan leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and a lasting mark on the friendships he made. His profound impact on the lives of countless individuals will be deeply missed, and he will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
