He is survived by his brother Filbert Diaz, his two sisters, Beverly Navarrette, Terri Lockwood, his son Joseph R. Diaz, grandchildren, great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Edward is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Louis Diaz and mother, June Lucille Furtado.
Edward graduated from Winters Joint Union High School as Valedictorian in June 1960. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State College, he went on to attend The University of Santa Clara where he obtained his Masters of Business Administration. Edward retired from the US Army Reserve after 20 years of service. He was employed for 36 years at Lockheed Martin as the Technical Training Manager for the FBM program.
Edward gave to many charitable organizations such as, local food banks, veterans, St. Judes, and animal rights groups. He was a lover of the outdoors and a long-time supporter of the National Park Services.
The family requests donations to any of the above organizations in lieu of flowers.
