to be with the Lord Jesus, in her home, on Saturday October 22, 2022. Antonia was born in Santa Cruz, Madeira, Portugal—a place she treasured. She was predeceased by her loving husband Luis de Sousa of 59 years.
She will be lovingly remembered and adored by her children Maria Seeger, Antonio Sousa and wife Karen, and Ana Mandelenis, and twins Joao and Jose that left this earth as infants.
Antonia was the daughter of Joao and Leonilda Alves; predeceased by siblings Clement, Monica, Madalena and John. Antonia was the youngest.
Antonia’s husband Luis came to America first for a better life. Antonia came to America in 1959 with her three children. Antonia believed in God, Family and hard work. Antonia enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crochet, embroidery and walking to Catholic church daily service. She truly lived through love and her acts of kindness created a light that shone bright. Her sense of humor was great, her light bright, and her ways were always to give (especially food). She was always selfless with her family. Antonia and her husband Luis gave it all for the American dream to create a better life for themselves, their children, 8 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.

25 Great Grandchildren Ava and Jack Cornell. Finley and Faith Bridgewater. Boston, Landon, Hudson, Scarlett, and Jamison Ashe. Tony, Kingston and Paris Sousa. Riley, Ronan, Reese, Rhett Cook. Nora and Xander Bailey. William, Aston, Dylan Mandelenis. Andrina, Mackenzie, Brielle, and Lucy Mandelenis.
She was also survived by nieces Manuela and Priscilla.
Best friends Connie Leonardo and Mary Gonzales.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050. A committal service will occur Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
