William was best known as Bill. He was born on February 22, 1934 in the city of Cleveland, Ohio to his beloved parents, William Joseph Hall and Ann Lata Howitt. He has three sisters; Joanne, Sandy and Kathy.
He is survived by his wife Maria, his daughter Karen, his son Bill, and his granddaughter Melanie. They all mourn his sudden departure to eternal life.
Throughout his life on earth, William was well liked for his kind manners, friendship, love for his family and respect for others.
He was proud to have served in the United States Army and the US Army Reserve for many years. Overseas he was stationed in Strassburg-Kaserne Idar-Oberstein, Germany; and in the United States. He was a member of the 6th Battalion, Artillery, 37d. Brigade. He received his Certificate of Honorable Discharge dated October 31, 1962.
As a Veteran he applied to become a Firefighter and served tirelessly and selflessly, always putting the safety of the community before his own. He retired on March 30, 1991 after 33 years of public service, then devoted himself to to beloved family.
Military Funeral Honors will be presented by the Army to honor him as a Veteran Member of the U.S. Armed Forces. His memorial service will be on Friday November 11, 2022 at Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary at 1:00pm in Santa Ana, California.
