In 1957, when she was 8 months pregnant, Frank and Pat moved from Rochester to Redondo Beach, California. A month after they arrived, she gave birth to her first son, David. Eighteen months later her second son, Steven was born and then eighteen months after that her daughter Linda was born. She took dance classes at Santa Ana College (modern, tap and ballet). This lead to her taking acting and singing classes. She had roles in 5 different plays. She went back to work as a nurse when her children were in elementary school to provide extras for the family (violin lessons for all 3 children, gymnastic lessons). She retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital when she was 60. Traveling: early years went camping with Frank and the children – Yosemite/Mt. Shasta. They enjoyed the cruise so much that they took several more to the Carribean, Central America and Hawaii. 60 wedding anniversary party: Their children gave Frank and Patricia a reception party. Their wedding was a simple affair making this party very special for them. Family and lifetime friends as well as more recent friends attended this affair. Square Dancing – Disneyland Squares / Rainbow Squares / Shirts and Skirts. Frank and Patricia met at a square dance but when they moved to California and had young children they didn’t have time for this activity. In 1975, they returned to square dancing and continued in the activity for over 40 years. Yacht Club – Frank and Patricia have a boat that is docked in Long Beach. They have been members of the Dana West Yacht Club for about 40 years and participated in a variety of activities such as 4th of July Boat Parade.
