Moises was born in the Santa Ana Hospital Medical Center on June 28, 1988. He graduated from Valley High School in June of 2006. Moises, a young man, equipped with great vision and the high aspiration for a better life, abandoned all notions of fear and doubt as he staked his claim to the future and moved to San Diego, CA. There, he attended the University of California San Diego (UCSD), double majoring in Political Science and Economics. Moises graduated with a Bachelors in 2011. Never forgetting his beloved family or his beloved community, Moises returned home to Santa Ana, where he would begin his life’s work of establishing relationships and connecting people who would otherwise never have developed an association. For a time he lent his passion and unyielding spirit of excellence to the banking industry and quickly rose through the ranks at Schools First Federal Credit Union.
There, he developed the preliminary skills for what would later become not just a profession but a provincial calling. Moises would ultimately leave Schools First Federal Credit Union and move on to perform his greatest works at Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial.
Within such a great ensemble of people, Moises found a common thread of values that was crucial to the longevity he chose to give his profession. Once again, establishing an unrelenting spirit of success, Moises traversed across the streets of Santa Ana, while building relationships and changing the futures of his community through a financial perspective that would ultimately allow for many to change the circumstances of their lives. Having reached so many within his own community, Moises would expand upon his vision and reach out to as many as could possibly be helped throughout California. His great pleasure and satisfaction was in aiding others to secure for themselves a desirable future.
Among his professional accomplishments, Moises was the youngest board member of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce. His stay at the chamber would earn him the position of treasurer as well as ambassador. Other appointments would follow as he would also join the Government Affairs Council, Economic Development Council, and the Community Engagement Council. Among his many appointments, Moises proudly served as a board member of AISS, otherwise known as the Achievement Institute for STEM Scholars. Always remembering that there were those who took a chance on him when he was coming of age, Moises was a large proponent of giving back to the next generation. Humble in mindset, Moises made sure to always designate time for his AISS students.
Moises was a simple man who maintained a complex and multifaceted code of ethics, integrity, loyalty, faith, and honor. To his family he held true, never bending nor breaking, always putting his mother and father above all. Moises lived his life only to be of service to the ones he loved. Possessing a great and selfless heart, Moises was never too busy, or tired to give a friend in need a helping hand. Those who knew him best would say that to be his friend is to be his family. Ever so graciously extending his arms in friendship and opening the doors of his home to all who seek companionship. Moises welcomed everyone with a warm meal, a rest on the couch, and a shot of tequila to forge a lasting bond.
His many interests and passions included writing poetry, playing the guitar, recording music, drawing still life illustrations or fictional depictions of imaginary scenes. Within his heart burned the fire of a poet, which led him to publish his own private collection of original poems called, “Wishing on Adriana’s Star”. The opening pages of his book would describe the work as the embodiment of all his hopes and dreams. Apart from artistic pleasures, Moises fancied himself something of a chef or rather a grill master. His passion for feeding his loved ones earned him the endearing moniker of Chefmoiardee.
Moises is survived by his two parents, along with three brothers, and three sisters. His surviving twin brother credits Moises for being the biggest blessing of his life, and best companion that a brother could ever ask for. Never has there been a finer man who lived his life in adherence to the highest standard of truth and excellence. He was a bright light that shone across the hearts of those he touched. He was a son, brother, mentor, friend, and servant to his community. Surely goodness and mercy will follow him, as he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
