Kevin was born in San Bernardino, CA on July 20, 1973, to Deena Hill and lived in Fontana until he was 11 years old. In his earliest years, his mom, grandma Janet and aunt Sheryl worked as a team to raise their amazing boy.
When he was eight, Kevin got his first dog, Sandy, a Springer Spaniel mix. Sandy was very protective of her boy and Kevin’s grandpa Ben would joke that Sandy practically raised him. Kevin’s love of animals continued to grow, but dogs were his favorite. He would beam when he told little stories of each one over the years: Harley, Lily, Jax, Honey, Teddy.
In the sixth grade Kevin and Deena moved to Huntington Beach where his personality began to shine. He enjoyed music of all genres and loved to sing along. “Rhinestone Cowboy” was the song of choice on long drives, especially when going to see his grandma.
Kevin graduated from Ocean View High School in 1991. That night the family celebrated with dinner at Pizza Hut, where Kevin filled out an application for work and his passion for Pizza began. He worked for Pizza Hut for 17 years and then switched to Oggi’s Pizza for 17 more. He was a general manager at Oggi’s in Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
In 1992, Kevin's little brother Sam was welcomed into the family. Although they weren't raised together, they were very close.
Kevin loved the outdoors, including boating, fishing, hiking, snow skiing and riding his “dirt toys.” He was adventurous, even went to West Virginia and bought a motorcycle from his stepdad Buck Caparros and rode it across the country.
In 2002, Kevin married Misty Bareno and they became parents with the birth of their son Jacob. After a few years they parted ways.
As Jacob grew, he joined his dad in outdoor activities. They went to concerts together, worked together and were best friends.
Kevin met Rose Calabrese in 2007 when they both worked at Oggi’s, and he fell in love with her almost at first sight. She and her sons Joseph and Dylan, who loved him like a father, completed his family and they settled into their new home in Anaheim Hills.
Kevin believed in God and Jesus and UFOs. His family and friends will remember him as the most loving and kind man they ever knew.
Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents Benjamin C. Hill Jr., Janet Birch Hill, Edward T. Lemon and Josephine Guerrero Lemon.
Kevin is survived by his wife Ruzica “Rose” Calabrese, son Jacob Hill, stepsons Joseph and Dylan Calabrese, mother Deena Hill, step-grandmother Sharon “Gaga” Smith Hill, sister Serene Lemon, brother Samuel Caparros, aunts Sheryl Hill and Sally Lemon Carney, uncle Darryl (Susan) Hill, great-aunts Myra (Richard DeYoung) Beedle and Deanna (Kenneth) Jennings, and many cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on February 3, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary, 1702 Fairhaven Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92705, followed by interment in Eternal Springs cremation garden.
