Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, I am cooking this year.   Plan for a large Roasted Chicken as the Turkey is too big to handle
I have had you both on my mind so much lately and miss you a lot!
I have been busy doing a lot of social activities here. we had an early rain this November and snow is still on the mountain peaks.   The Santa Ana winds have also arrived, leaves all over the patio.  I will get the blower and take care of it when it warms up a little.
The golf cart is doing just fine, I add water to the batteries every now and then.  I need to check the air in the tires or have Carlos do it.  
The car just has a little over 7,000 miles on it and still is beautiful, I go to the car wash and it is just $7.00 and I vacuum it with the powerful vacuum there.  I also backed it out when it rained then I dried it off so I got a free car wash!  LOL
I just wanted to tell you we miss you both, and wish you a Heavenly Happy Thanksgiving.

It has been 6 years since Joshua left us.  It was one of the most difficult days I have ever faced.
He left us Logan he is 10 years old now!  Abigail is just 3 years behind him.
We can thank the Allen's for the big part they have taken on to raise these children.

 Valerie came to visit me for 2 weeks we had a fun time.   Spent time with Logan & Abby, went to Knotts and stayed at the nice Knotts Hotel.  They loved the pool swam in the morning and afternoon and evening!  
Valerie and I shopped, danced on the Veranda to Music under the stars, ate at the club house and went to TOPS and also went to Riverside National Cemetery to visit you Jac as she hadn't been there.  Next time we will go to Fairhaven to visit you, Joshua.

We also saw Juanita "Nana" and Don "Poppy" the kids call him that.  They had just returned from a Trip to Louisiana, Texas & Oklahoma.  Jeremy mainly drove them. 
 
I need to get busy.   I love and miss both of you.

Dearest Joshua & Jac,
Hello, you two, three years ago yesterday you left us Jac.  I just want you to know I miss you.  I had the Bunco playing ladies here last night and I know you would be glad that I am well and doing things I enjoy.
I finally played golf on Tuesday, it had been weeks, the weather was either windy, cold or wet!
Joshua, I get to enjoy a conversation occasionally with Logan.  I plan to go visit him this Spring.  It is almost your Birthday.  It doesn't seem possible you should be celebrating your 40th Birthday.  
I had an opportunity to order a photo album from the pictures I had posted on Facebook, I am really enjoying it.  The two of you are in it with all of us, it is so easy to recall all the good times, then we face reality and know that with life there is also death.  Pictures of you Joshua in Santa Ana and you Jac (Daddy) in Riverside.  
The Pandemic is improving, not as many people are getting sick, not everyone chose to get the vaccine.  They are lifting the Mask requirement in many places.  So many lives were lost.
Another War is starting in Europe, Russia is moving in on Ukraine!
People are fleeing, they are trying to put out a fire now in Ukraine at a NUCLEAR POWER PLANT!
Always something powerful happening on this Earth.  
On a lighter note, I need Able to work on a few sprinklers, plus I need 3 new valves.   I also put new colored lights in the Malibu's they are so bright and pretty.
Things are opening up and we able to attend events, Friendship Club, the Recreational Dept. are putting nice shows on We plan to go see Tom Jones, Fritz Coleman, Elvis ...... from now thru May.
I communicate with Valerie, Chey and Nathanial really often.  Chey is the best to keep in touch.
Valerie is going to put in a new Bathroom Lavatory and pullman. .   She is becoming pretty handy.  Nathanial has been working on his car and has it running now, replaced a new Head Gasket. Chey had a root canal x 2 on the same tooth!

Dearest Joshua and Jac,
So much has gone on since I last wrote to you.  Covid vaccines have improved our lives.  I have received all of mine, 3 total.  Just need the routine flu shot and I will get it this coming week along with an annual physical.
Logan got to come home with me after I went there and we got to have a good time in Orange County.  Then it continued on out here!  He has gained weight during this Pandemic!  I hope he can take it off .
We have had a warm fall it is almost Thanksgiving.  I have been invited out for T G dinner, so that is nice.
I had a trip to Denver to attend Katie's Wedding.  It was also a family reunion.  It was a wonderful affair I saw people I had not seen in years.  I stayed at Bethel's home along with her son and friend and her grandson Bryton a Junior in college, plus Jackie Sue.  Her home is lovely and large.  The theme of the wedding was Goth.  A very memorable affair.
Well  I want you both to know how much we all miss you.  All my love Grandma and Yvonne 

Hello Joshua, Happy Birthday Jac
Today is also AnnaLea's Birthday, Nathanial's baby girl she is 1 year old.  They are having her party on Sunday.
Logan's tomorrow.  I sent him a card and money.  I  know he is counting down the days!  I am not sure what kind of celebration  they plan!
Robin passed away, so sad she was young.
I am working on the Malibu's Jac and also I have a chirping smoke alarm I will go to Home Depot and see if I can find a new replacement I understand the new ones last 10 years.  They do not have batteries.  The life of these are supposed to be 10 years and this is almost 20 years!    So I can't complain.  
Things are beginning to open up around here.  They are still doing Social Distancing with Covid. 
I met the UCI ladies at the Cheesecake factory at the Galleria Mall in Riverside yesterday and we had to sit 4 at a table and one table in between us!  Bummer!
Next time we are finding a place that will let us sit together!

Dearest Joshua & Jac, G Pa.,
Yesterday was Easter - still no Church at Banning United Methodist Church.  I understand the Minister still needs his vaccine.  He is in the next category I believe.  
Things are beginning to open up, arena's for basketball, to only 25%.
UCLA lost to Gonzaga by the final long shot they were in the March Madness final 4.  What a game, UCLA (in my opinion) deserved to win.  One of the announcers predicted ahead of the game that the team that got the ball last will win the game and SURE ENOUGH that is what happened.  Joshua even you would have loved the competitive spirit of the game!  
I had a long conversation with Logan before Easter.  I sent him a card and some money.  So he called me to Thank me for it.  While we were on the phone I read him a story.  I told him I used to read you a story every night at bed time.  He said "every night"  I replied "Yes do you want me to read you a story?"  and he said "yes,"  so I did, he said he felt sleepy after the story, so it apparently relaxed him.  I told him whenever he wanted me to read him a story just call me up.
I also talked to Abigail.
I made the traditional food for Easter, pickled eggs and beets, Au gratin potatoes , pink sour cream beets, fresh asparagus, ham, and fresh strawberries.  
I listened to Joel Osteen's Service, even sang a song with BUMC's  service online.  I sound better singing with the entire church!   LOL
I just want you both to know that we miss you.

Today is your Birthday Joshua
 and this month on the 2nd G Pa left to be with you.
I am limping around I can get around however, I am using a walker, I was just walking and suddenly something strange happened to my right knee, it had been bothering me so I planned to go to the Dr. 
So I went to Urgent care and they determined it was a degenerative process happening to my knee (old age).  I had good friends help me,  Bobbi and Kristi.  
I am going to my Dr. tomorrow and talk about the future.  
I miss you both, but didn't want this day to go by without a note to the two of you.

Dearest Joshua & Jac G. Pa,
I tried to write to you yesterday, the day that you left us Joshua.  I wasn't able to get on the internet.

I saw a cute picture on Facebook that Brittney posted of her and Abigail and Logan.  He is getting so big well both of them.!

I just took a trip to see Valerie and Chey and Nathanial!  Then we all went to Branson for the Labor Day Weekend and had a nice time, there were 7 of us.
Nathanial's new baby AnnaLea is so pretty and smiles so big, she was just 3 months old.  Born on your B D Jac.  
They had a B D Party for me at Nathanial's house, everyone came, they are fixing up the house so nicely in Nevada.  There is still a lot to do.  But they can at least live in it while they are finishing it!  
Nathanial carried up a big queen bed for me when I stayed there!  Something had been put down the new toilet and it didn't flush good, so they weren't using it, so we had to go down stairs to the B. R. Plus that B. R. didn't have a door on it yet!  We made do .
Valerie didn't have her house ready for guests so I didn't get to stay there with her.  She wants me to come back Xmas!
We are doing major things to Chey's house it is over 100 years old!    Going to remove a HUGE tree that covers 1/2 of the small front yard!  They are working under the house replacing a  rotten beam and joists and other areas that need fixing and replacing, so hopefully it will be good now.  She will be getting a new garage door and opener so she can use the garage now.  It is a tiny drive way so that will have to be taken care of also it is grass and dirt!
I had a wonderful Birthday 2 parties, there and here.  I am doing well, still playing golf and going to the Helicopter Ball drop next week.

Dearest Joshua and Jac,
Today is Father's day and you are both with your Heavenly Father and we miss you on Earth to celebrate with us.
This is Nathanial's first Father's Day to celebrate, with the new life of AnnaLea, born on May 19 she is just a little over a month old.  I am anxious to see her, I plan to go to Kansas and Missouri in September to see everyone.
Life is so changed and so different for all of us.  The Corona Virus causing a  Pandemic, the staying in our homes so we won't get it, the closing of all our stores, except essential stores like grocery and etc.  The Health care system workers have become our Hero's.  We all are wearing masks when we go out to protect others and ourselves.  Schools are closed.  I am not sure Joshua what Nana will decide about sending Logan back to school that will open in August.  They will be given choices to study online or return to the classroom.  It is such a deadly virus.
Valerie is well after her accident & they have transportation again after the last truck quit running and J R is struggling with his health.
The house is still being worked on it was totally replumbed - a financial shock!  
Still some work but hopefully Nathanial can do a lot of it.!  He had really good help from HarLee's brothers, but they have had to return to work out of State.  
I am well our Golf Club has resumed, our restaurant is starting to open soon.  I had to have my battery charged as I didn't use the car enough, but I try to use it more so it will stay charged.

Dearest Joshua and Jac,
Happy Birthday yesterday Jac, and also Nathanial's baby girl was born on your Birthday, weighed 6lbs. 6 ozs. They named her AnnaLea Jean Yvonne Slichenmyer.  That takes up the entire line on the Birth Certificate!  I will download a picture to my computer and then I will post her picture.
Joshua, today is Logan's Birthday, I tried calling Nana and then the Land Line but no one answered.  I will try after while again.  I sent him his Card and money present.  I found a Happy Birthday song from Chuck E Cheese's and I will play it for him when he answers the phone.  He also had a new baby brother born this month and his name is Timothy.
We are experiencing the most unusual Times in our History.  We are in a Pandemic and it has taken thousands of lives.  It is a Virus.  We have had to stay home, and when we go out we have to wear a mask.  Only Essential businesses are open.  Grocery stores, gas stations, etc.  It has devastated our economy 25% are unemployed just like the Great Depression.  

Valerie had an accident and wrecked her truck and broke a vertebra in her back.

Ter had major surgery and was very ill, but OK now.

Nathanial and family are moving in the house in Nevada, we had to put in a new water main as the old one broke, replumbing the entire house and new water  heater.  Painting everything, new floors vinyl planks on the main level  and re-sanding and finishing the hardwoods up stairs!  Going to also redo basement floors.  New drywall in Chey's room, ceiling and walls.  New drywall on the ceilings in the basement.  Cleaned up the entire property, it took 3 dumpsters!  What is done looks really nice.  They will probably be able to move in by the 1st of June.

This is the first time Joshua that I haven't been to C E C's with Logan as it is CLOSED  down.  The Schools are closed!  Disneyland, Churches, Movie Theaters, …..

This date was the day you were born.  I mentioned to your Mom this morning that maybe G Pa was fixing one of your childhood favorite breakfasts for you Waffles and sausage.
Then I got a terrible phone call from her and she had an accident in her truck, a couple of ladies stopped first and helped her out of the upside down truck.  I guess she stood up and then the ambulance arrived and took her to the hospital and she wasn't even wanting to go except she had so much pain.
They are keeping her there she has a fractured vertebra in the center T 11.  That causes people problems that is where a lot of normal twisting goes on, so that makes it very difficult now that it is fractured.
She still had Nathanial and Chey send you balloons for your B D.  I know G Pa celebrated with you.  G. Pa left on the 2nd of this month.  My day was very difficult on the 1st as that was our last full day together on this earth.  We miss U both.  Love you both Lots.

Dearest Joshua & Jac          1/8/2020
I haven't written in a while, but I have thought of you often (every day!)  I got a call from Logan the other day to "Thank me for the Christmas Gifts"  We had a nice conversation.  I had gotten him some Bumper Cars to play with and Abigail skates.  He told me she fell on them.  Juanita told me she was doing well on them.  He said he made them bigger and skated on them also.!  Said he fell on his "butt"!  I also sent him another game and a puzzle.  I decided not to go as the weather was rainy and he was still in School when I could go, so...…. I will go later.  
I attended a lot of fun Christmas celebrations, with my different organizations and with friends, plus Church, which is what the Season is all about.  Ter and Cheryl came out and we went out to Lunch at Chili's.  

The gutter came lose on the West side of the house and Arturo came over and repaired it for me.  We all miss Adriane.

Just to let you know Joshua, your uncle Bobby in Missouri passed away.  Your Nana was going back there.  I need to call and see if she has returned yet.  They were on a camping trip - it was his heart.  He was doing well with his dialysis for his kidneys, but then this happened to him.
Jac, Valerie is moving one piece at a time (almost) she hopes to be settled and have Thanksgiving in her new (to her) house.  (I am not very enthused about the property.)
We ordered shocks, for the truck, a new alternator, I guess it is on, JR helped her with that.  She wants to move the refrigerator and a couple more big items.  She ordered a shed she has to assemble for the dogs!  She thinks she can make two trips today!  Well just another update, miss you here Daddy .  Lots of Love to U both.  G Ma Yvonne

Dearest Joshua and Jac,         11-7-19
Hello, it is a warm fall day here today, shirt sleeve weather!  We have had a lot of wind!  Jac you wouldn't have liked that - they closed down the golf course!
I had a great trip - no problems flying - Chey was there in Joplin to pick me up!  When we landed there were large bales of hay all around, it is out of the city surrounded by fields.
We went immediately to a car wash after they picked me up!  You wouldn't have believed her car!  Much improved when we all 3 jumped on it!
Really good to see her and Emme.  We spotted a Ross's on our way out of Joplin so we stopped there and shopped for a while.  They were hungry when they got off work so we went to Casey's , that is a Gas Station that has food, so they seem to use it a lot for emergency food (whenever they are hungry).
Then we went on home to Chey's.  
She had it nice for me, my bed all ready and new sheets.  The new roof looked really nice a lot of trees.  We got them trimmed, but I had already gone home when they did it.  We didn't want the trees to get all snow and iced and come down on the new roof!  They still are going to do the garage, maybe this week or next hopefully it will happen before the ice and snow!
They have a bug problem, so we called the man and he sprayed everything.  It helped but we were still seeing some and we didn't want to see any so he came back again but I was gone by then.  
We worked to improve her house while I was there, and it helped a lot.  It still needs new floors in the living room and bedrooms.  So sometime this Winter hopefully we can get that done.  We got a new dresser as they didn't have any place to store anything in the bedroom.
We all went to Branson Silver Dollar City together.  We all arrived about the same time except Valerie, she arrived really late Friday night.  
We had a fun time together all day and evening we had little 9 month old AtLee with us, he can walk !  We had early T G Dinner before I left!  Love G Ma Yvonne

Dearest Joshua and Jac,
Today three years ago you left us Joshua, when we received the news on the phone, your G Pa and I were broken hearted and we cried and cried as did a lot of other people that loved you so.  The memories are so strong today I am still crying for you only alone, G Pa is with you and not me.
I really miss him I am getting ready to fly back to see your Mom and everybody, and I am getting everything all ready by myself.  The luggage was up so high I had a hard time getting it down, so when I put it up I will find a new place! 
My plane leaves early so the man will pick me up at 4:30 AM and I will be in Joplin, MO at 3:55 PM  I have a 3 hr. delay in Dallas, always with American Airlines.   I have checked in with the Computer and already printed out my boarding pass.  I no longer have the Stand By privileges since Auntie passed away.  
Nathanial and his Dad are working on his car.  I ordered him a new catalytic converter, it will come today or tomorrow.  Nothing like doing things the last minute.
I am packing now, my suitcase is full, as usual.  I am trying to figure out how to carry the things in my cosmetic bag in my suitcase and not bring my cosmetic bag!  
They got the roof on Chey's house and now we have to get the garage roofing structure done, rafters are broken they will replace them and hopefully it will be done in a couple of weeks!  This is my Birthday Party at the Club House for lunch, they put it in the newspaper!
Gotta run and get finished.

My big brother. I can’t explain how deeply I miss you. I don’t think theirs enough time in the day. I wish you could be here still to guide me through life. I always wanted a big brother. I’m glad God gave me you for the time period he did. I wish we could sit down and play video games and eat microwave nachos one more time. I still remember the last time we talked you broke down into tears. You had all the odds out to get you and you were worried about me. I’m sorry i haven’t completely listened to your advice. I promise I’ll get there one day. I know your looking down on me when your not enjoying paradise. It’s okay. You deserve every last bit of it. Go enjoy it. We will meet again some day. We have a lot of catching up to do. I passed Gears of War 2 twice already. I’ll tell you about it when we see each other. Until we meet again -Ivan. (With all my heart and soul)

Dearest Joshua and Joshua's G. Pa Jac,

The last two days have been lazy days for me, but before that I have been busy celebrating my Birthday.  I have many pretty cards!  We had a luncheon at the Club House and Adriane was even able to come, life has become very difficult for her.  
Her daughter Marla brought her and the care giver Nancy.

The roving reporter was walking around in the dining room and she stopped at our table and wanted to know what was going on, she saw the decorations and party favors, I replied, "We are celebrating a birthday."  She wanted to know whose.  I told her it was mine and she asked if she could take our picture and she would like to put it in the paper.    So she did!  So we all made the news!   LOL  

I had a nice letter from Claude, I had written and told him about your G Pa and I talked about you and Logan.  I called your Nana and she was helping Logan do his homework, counting by twos, he found out it was me calling and he wanted the phone to talk to me.  He got on the phone and said "Grandma I really love you so much."    I replied "I really love you so much too."   I thought it was so sweet.  I guess he was remembering the good times we had at Knott's!

I am going to fly back to Missouri and Kansas, I am going to stay with Chey and Valerie I guess she will be moved in by then.  I am leaving the 3rd of October and will be back on the 13th.  It just came to me today that you and G pa both left us on the 2nd of the month.  It will be 3 years in October Joshua and 7 months for you Jac.

We plan to go to Branson on the 4th of October and then the next day to Silver Dollar City, then come home on the 6th, we will stop by Lamberts to eat on the way home.  I have made our room reservations.  Theresa will meet us at SDC, that will be so fun for all of us.   I wish you both were here to go with us.  I am flying in to Joplin and Chey will pick me up.  I am not crazy about flying, but I certainly can't drive!  
I will tell U about it later!  

Hi Joshua, and Joshua's G Pa,
I am really getting a nice crop of home grown tomatoes now.  I had sliced tomatoes with a sprinkle of feta cheese on them and also a part of a really good mango for dinner tonight.  Tomorrow is weigh in day at TOPS and I need to trim off a little.  

Guess what?  I have a little bit of Script on the Sun Lakes account to use in the golf shop or the dining room.    Kristi & I came in 4th and we won $2 LOL.  It might take a while to buy a dinner.

I have been working on a few things here, you would be proud I fixed 2 different hoses and nozzles, used the vise grip on the work bench for one and the hand vise grips for the other, one leaks a little tiny bit I may go get a new piece to put in it.

We are really having a hard time getting Chey's new washer fixed!  I hope the Company can get back there tomorrow, they didn't even try it out when they put the new part in, just said that was it and left.  The girls are inexperienced and didn't insist on making sure it worked when they were there.  They are learning.  

Nathanial sent me some darling photos of his little family.  I will see if I can copy them and I will send you one or two.  He is job searching.

Also we are waiting on the people to start the new roof on Chey's house.  That will be a big relief when that is over!  It also won't be too long until your Mom, moves Joshua.  She is happy about her move I hope it is a lasting good move for her Jac.
It is a little area in Eastern Kansas near Pittsburg, KS.  Scammon, KS  maybe I already told you the name of it.  

I will send another picture of the Riverside National Cemetery, Jac you and I visited it and I was content then when I saw it.

Dearest Joshua and Jac,
Just another fast note, we have also bought another property for Valerie, close to Cheyanne in Pittsburg, this is in Scammon, KS.  This is all in Eastern Kansas.  It is such a nice property about an acre and a half.  A nice house, a She Shed, a large shed  that will board 2 horses, it has an office in it.  It has a Car Wash and a powerful vacuum, and can generate from $600 to $1000 a month, plus it has a mobile home, with a cover for the car port that can be rented out.  
I believe Nathanial and his girl friend will move to the Nevada house until we sell it.  
I want to send a picture of the marker for your G Pa.  You would be content with it all Jac just wish you two could be here to be in on everything.  We miss you both very much.
Oh on Chey's house the seller really pulled a fast one on the roof!  Now we have to put a new roof on and it has tarps covering it as they have had so much rain and it is has a leak.  Remember our house with a new roof Jac we still had a leak.  We had to get a different roofer and they redid it!    Love G ma Yvonne

Dearest Joshua & Jac,

This is to both of you, I have shared your G Pa's marker at Riverside National Cemetery on Facebook and a picture of Logan when we went to Knott's the other day when Shelly, John, Danielle & Eric came out.  I have had a lot of comments and Likes for all of it.  
We stayed until 11:00 P M at Knotts they were closing as we left!   At about 9:00 PM Logan thought he better call Nana, he commented to me that she might say to him "You better get your butt home it's getting late."  I laughed and told him I was sure she would say it was alright to be out late since you were with me!  
We had such a good time, Logan and I and Ter liked the same rides, Shelly and all liked the BIG Roller Coasters!  
We 5 stayed at our house, except when they went to OC for 3 days to go to the Beach in Huntington Beach, they actually stayed in Orange at 701 City Drive at a nice Hotel.   They always love the Ocean.  They got to see and do other nice things on the way here, Grand Canyon and on the way back Alamogordo White Sands, they took some pretty pictures on the White Sands!  I don't think you went there Joshua, but your G Pa and I did a long time ago.
I have been staying busy, the Summer concerts are on downtown, so I have seen two of them.  The lady I visited with was there again and I had a chance to talk with her this last Thursday and she wanted to know where you were Jac.  I told her what happened, and she was so sweet and expressed her sympathy.
The ladies at the Church have included me in their circle and I have enjoyed dining with them after Church on Sunday.
I have loaned Cheyanne money to buy a house in Pittsburg, KS.  They are so happy to be there.  They both have a job at the Door Factory, just a short distance from the house.  It is a Craftsman Style house and considered a Camp Style.  The house is 99 years old!  It has many upgrades.
I had a nice comment from Sue Adams, she told me we made a great couple.  I told her we loved being a couple. Love G ma Y

Dearest Joshua,
I am directing this to you and your G Pa Jac Adams - I wanted to write to you on Father's day, but it just became too difficult for me.  G Pa was a father for a long time and you were only a father for a short while, I know you were so looking forward to that role in life.
I miss both of you, I miss seeing G Pa on the golf course, at the table eating and watching some sporting event on TV golf if it was on or an exciting basket ball game.
Yesterday the helicopters came to our lake, on hole number 10 for water to fight the fire nearby.  I understand it was near the badlands by highway  60 and 10 the smoke was from that direction and we could smell it.  We have fountains in our lakes so maybe they can't use the water from our 2 lakes, for fear of damaging the fountains.

Cheyanne has moved to Pittsburg, KS.  She and Emme have jobs there at a door factory.  We found a house that they both liked so decided to buy it.   Nathanial had his birthday the 18th just turned 25 so he and his girl friend are in Vegas celebrating birthdays she is turning 21 on the 22nd I believe the date is.  They missed their plane on Thursday so had to go on Friday!  Some people operate on the edge of time and sometimes it doesn't work out.

I am OK adjusting to living alone doing the job of two people sometimes.  I have forgotten to close the garage door  2 different times lately and so they call me and remind me!  Time flies by!  

I haven't talked to Logan in a long time, I didn't get to celebrate his birthday with him this year.

Well I have run out of news, but just want you both to know you are missed, also Auntie.  She has been gone a year this month on the 19th.  I talk to them occasionally in Oklahoma.

Dearest Joshua,
It is cool and rainy here today even though the rainy season is over.  Our house is so different, without G Pa here any more.  Tears still come when I think of you both, not being here anymore.
G Pa had such a nice Service over at Riverside National Cemetery, the Army military in their Dress Uniforms did the Honors, with Taps, and the March and the 21 gun salute, and the presentation of the Flag to me.
Our Minister Tom Tran conducted the Service and he called the evening before and wanted the family to present the Eulogy.  So I already had done a tribute to G Pa, so I just elaborated on it revised what needed to be changed.  I presented the Eulogy.
Ter presented a Letter to Uncle Jac, it was really good,  people really enjoyed it.
There were people there from Orange County, San Diego County, and of course Riverside County, and from the States of Colorado, Arizona and Missouri.  There was a long train of cars in the procession it was so beautiful to see so many.

Then we invited everyone to a Luncheon to Celebrate His Life.  We had over 70 people there.  
I had a man with a beautiful Voice sing in the background, he sang G Pa's favorites, Country Western, Amazing Grace, which we also sang at his funeral, then some Methodist Hymns,  and some all time favorites.
The flowers were so pretty at the Service and we brought them to the Luncheon.
The tables were all done in Red White & Blue, they looked so pretty.
Your Mom and Cheyanne got to come out for the Service.
Then the following day we went down to Orange County and saw your Marker as Cheyanne had never seen it.  
We took flowers for you also.

Well just wanted to put it in writing how much we miss you both!

G. Pa joined you on the 2nd of March, he told you "goodnight" every night while he was here.
I miss him so much, but he isn't sick anymore, he didn't want to go and leave me alone, just like you didn't want to go and leave Logan   

Your Mom and J R came and she polished your Marker and took some wonderful pictures.  We all went down there on your Birthday and took flowers and released balloons to you and G Pa.  Your Mom also wanted to see her "Daddy" before his burial.  Just like she wanted to see you.

We are having G Pa's service on April 12th at Riverside National Cemetery at 9:30 in the morning.   Cheyanne and your Mom are coming again for the Service

Just a note as I wrote on the Facebook and posted a pretty song.  I wrote an obituary for you and it hasn't been posted, so I wrote to them about it, so we will see what happens.  

We really miss you and Auntie, we call J R and talk to him once in a while and Theresa as she is lonesome since U. Wayne left.  

Brittney spent a weekend with the kids, with your Nana they all went out and stayed at the Motel, and swam in the pool and had a good time.
It looks like rain today we are supposed to get a good rain all over Southern CA.  I didn't golf today, it was barely sprinkling, I could have but I just didn't get around in time.

Well it didn't work out that Logan got to come out like we thought, so we will make a plan and go up there to see him, and we usually get to see Abigail also.  We will try to go around your birthday and visit you and go to Chuck E Cheese's.
The Rev. Billy Graham passed away today - he was born in 1918 and passed in 2018 - he was actually 99 years old.  I do not know the month he was born.
The man that helped bring him to fame was the Newspaper Magnate, William Randolph Hearst.  Hearst's castle was his home and it has been a tourist attraction for a long time.  I think we all went there.

It is really cold out here - it snowed Monday evening, not enough to stick but it is all over our Mountains, so that keeps the cold here!  It was pretty to see it coming down, we need all the moisture we can get.  I got the car out and took all the ladies to Bunco that evening, so it got the car dirty, but it is supposed to rain again soon, so maybe we can drive it out and it will wash it off.  

We talked to your Mom today and she is happy with her truck (new) to her.  It has an extended cab, leather seats that are heated!  You need that in cold country.  Chey and Emmy are there for a little bit, they have been there for 3 or 4 days now.  
I talked to Auntie Judy yesterday and Tony Paul and his partner Cale, are spending some time with them.  T P works in Owasso and Cale is job searching.  She cooks good food for them and they also help cook.  They have really good appetites.
Nathanial is in Milwaukee working now, they had to tear down a booth and rebuild it in a new location - he said it was really a dirty job.
G Pa jumped the fence in our back yard two weeks ago and cut his leg open and had to have 6 stitches and it really bothered him, he went back today and had the stitches removed, he dreaded it, but he made it!   LOL
Tomorrow he has an appointment to see the Oncology Dept. I believe he will see the P. A., the Primary Care Doctor thought he should go, perhaps they would take another C T scan, he thought the growth might be causing pressure that made his legs swell, but he put him on a stronger medicine and his legs look almost normal now and not swollen, so that is good.  He had to take an antibiotic with the cut in his leg and it really made his blood sugar go high, but that is over and his blood sugar was almost normal today.

I have really been missing you so I feel like when I write to you here, we are having a closeness.  I feel closer to you in Church also.  Last Sunday your Mom, Chey and Emmy went to Church, Nathanial had to travel to Ohio on his job, then they went on to Wisconsin, or he would have gone also.  

Well the Olympics are on and I will close and go watch them, I really enjoy most of them.

Guess what???  Logan is going to come visit us and spend the night and go home the next day!  

Angel is going to be in a Cheering competition in Palm Springs Saturday and Sunday, so your Nana called us to see if Logan could stay with us!  

So we plan to do a lot of fun things, I hope he doesn't get homesick, he did fine with us when he spent the night at the Holiday Inn in Buena Park.

I will write you another letter after he stays and tell you all about it!  

It is so warm we might even go to the Jacuzzi!  I don't have any play doh so we may have to go shopping at Ross's!  There might be some more stuff there that is interesting!

I just had to tell you Logan's decision for a Bed Time Story!  "I said, Do you want to hear a funny story or a scary story?"  He said "A, scary story about Zombies!"  So that I did!  These Zombies weren't too scary, they just made a strange grunting sound as they walked thru town!"  He liked the story!  

I wish you could have seen the show "Drama" that he and Grace, put on with the Play Dough!  Grace is quite a little actress!

G Pa is feeling much better the last two days, his stomach was really bothering him.
  
Auntie Judy's J R has had a big operation and he is coming home from the Hospital today, I hope they can all take good care of him.  
Geoff is there to help and Ter is going to drive there tomorrow, so maybe they can all do it together.

I talked to Chey and Nate today We wished each other a "Merry Xmas" your Mom has lost her phone!

Hi Joshua,

We just got back from Buena Park, had lots of fun and good eats at Knott's, with Logan, Abigail, Nana, Grace, & Ter.  Nana treated us all for lunch at the Chicken Dinner restaurant, soo good.                       

 We had our Christmas at the Holiday Inn with the Family.  Logan wanted to spend the night with us, he really wanted Grace to stay with him, but she had school and couldn't and we only had 1 king bed! So he was brave and stayed with us!  "What a night"
We had so much fun!  
We went to Denny's for breakfast and he ate pretty good, wore his new clothes.  Ate mostly with his fork!  Then we took him home, and came on down to visit you.  Your Nana had a new flower holder put in so we used it for the poinsettia, it is so nice.

Hi Joshua,

We are going to see Logan and all on Wednesday!  Yippee!  

Our Church was decorated so beautifully Sunday with Poinsettias, garlands, wreaths & Christmas trees.  We donated a poinsettia in your memory, this will be our 2nd Christmas without you being here with us.  Tears in my eyes, missing you.

Our Minister is leaving our Church to retire, we attended a potluck for him on Sunday.  Then after the potluck, we had food and gifts to deliver to two different families for our Angel Tree Mission.  With the first delivery I was ready to get into the car (on the street) a little dog got out of the house, and thru the fence and bit me on the calf of my leg!  I had to go to Urgent Care and everything was up to date on my part, tetanus, so I just had to have a little topical Antibiotic and a Band-aid.  

I am going to another party today,  and our Golf Club Christmas luncheon tomorrow.

Hi Joshua

It has been a while since I visited you here and I just want to drop in and say hello, and tell you we all love you very much and wish you a "Merry Heavenly Christmas".  I will send a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Ferrebee on Christmas 10 years ago at ages 91 & 92 when they were both pretty spry and having a good time at our family dinner and gift exchange at our house.  Hug them for me, ok?  We all miss them so much too!

  Well it's nearly Christmas and so far I haven't done much at all toward getting ready. J.R. got sick suddenly last week and they have determined he needs an artery bypass in his leg. Surgery is scheduled for 20th so it will be behind him soon and he is very anxious to get it done as he's having quite a bit of discomfort from the blockage in his left leg. He's been laying kind of low since he is supposed to take it easy, but he fixed the washing machine today that went out Tuesday! No heavy work to it, just "know-how" and a new lid switch installation. We found a new switch for $39.00 in Claremore at an appliance parts store.  He watched a video on the computer to troubleshoot and find out how to do it.  Probably saved 150.00 by not calling a repairman to come out so that's good.  Priscilla came out to bring a voltage meter we borrowed from her Dad, and "she" moved the washer out from the wall in the garage since J.R. can't do anything heavy!! She's little but mighty! And....the laundry waits for noone.

Geoff is supposed to come on 19th for Christmas and help me with J.R.'s recovery which will be extensive after that kind of surgery per the surgeon.  Terry was talking about coming too, but not sure "if" or when yet.  A lot depends on the weather that can get real iffy" between here and California this time of year.  He had problems last time getting home after Christmas. Wicked snow and ice around Flagstaff AZ. Roads closed on Interstate 40 in some places with rescue missions around there! So luckily he turned South and barely avoided that mess just before he got into it.

Well....that's my news for now. Not great, but it's "news" and am trusting it will get better before long.  I want to bake some cookies and make candies for Christmas soon, so I've been looking through my recipes.  I love your Grandma Adams' peanut brittle recipe in the microwave!

I have learned that we do not forget those that we have loved, even though they are not here with us.  That helps with our separation. there are triggers that bring back memories.  
We are planning to go to Orange County to spend a day with Logan, Abigail, your Nana and whomever else can come along.  We will go to Knott's Merry Farm, visit Santa and have a picture made.  Ride rides, eat Chicken and have fun!.
We will spend the night at the Holiday Inn (our home away from home) when we go to Orange County, and give our gifts to the Allen's and have a fun evening together.  We will invite Ter and Cheryl to join us also.  
We will also come down to visit you with flowers so the world can see that we all care, and miss you.

We drove down to G-Ma & G-Pa Adams' house for a really fine Thanksgiving celebration. I ate too much as usual, and then we had left-overs for a few days afterward. The Santa Ana winds are really strong with 4 major wildfires burning around OC. I had a sego palm in a ceramic pot on the front porch, and it was blown over and broken today. I'll transplant it out back into a bigger clay pot, so it will grow larger. I have love those palms since the Bluebell Drive days. I'm thinking about you a lot lately and I'll try to communicate more in the future, because there is an important connection between ALL of us.

Hi Joshua,
I just got a text from Nathanial and he is in Milwaukee, WI working now.  He got to come home for Thanksgiving.
Ter & Cheryl came down for T G, and I fixed Turkey and all the Trimmings.  We had a nice visit.
Ter brought us a "Gratitude Jar" with 7 sayings that he wrote, so we can pull them out and read them:  
1. We are grateful for your love and caring for Abigail and Logan.
2. We are grateful for Joshua's Legacy Memorial Site and his beautiful stone.
3. Our gratitude goes out to both of you for helping out family in time of need.
I will list some more when I write again.

We are decorating for Christmas, it looks pretty inside so far! 
 
We went to Home Depot at 5:50 AM Friday morning and got 9 poinsettias & the line was long long, but we got them!  We also got a new light projection to shine on the house, I hope we like it, after we get it plugged in.  
Well we want to go eat a bite and go to Hobby Lobby for a minute.

We miss you, I found a Xmas Tree you did on paper with finger paints, when you were little, it is so nice I am sending it to your Mom so she can have it.

Hi Joshua,

I just got a text from Nathanial, he is on his way back home to MO from Las Vegas where he has been working.  He just passed the Twin Arrows, I think they are in Arizona or New Mexico?  
He said they may stop at the Cadillac Ranch, to see those half submerged Cadillacs in Amarillo, TX.  I said they should also try Furr's at Amarillo, we would always try to time it just right to eat there. 
G Pa just came in from Golf, it is a pretty day here, supposed to be very warm on Thanksgiving, he had a good game, always wants a better one!
We went to Church on Sunday, it was all about being "Thankful" They sent us home with Reflections for the coming week - Today Monday is "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden a field, which man found and covered up.  Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."  Matthew 13:44.

Oh another good one from church - What if you awakened today with all the things you had thanked God for yesterday?

Hey there my handsome angel in heaven. I know you are watching over me and all our family and keeping us safe. You are on my mind everyday and in my heart always. I miss you son so much and it gets worse everyday. I can't believe your gone this has been the worst year in my life. I'm waiting for your Grma to send me the guest book she said she'd get for me. It's all I will have left of you. It's not suppose to be like this. I'm suppose to go first. Not my children. It is not fare at all the way you had to leave us. I wish I'd wake up from this stupid horrific  nightmare. But it's real and it's wrong. I really feel sorry for your Grpa because he lost 2 special people in his life on the same day about 35 years apart. You and my Grpa your Grpa''s Dad. It's been a little while, a few weeks, since i've written. There for a while I was writing often, but it is difficult to remember, write and be sad at the same time. Last Sunday was Neil Young's 72nd birthday and it was a really big deal on his fan group pages on social media. Tributes galore. I have my own fans of neil young page, but it's small and mainly for my friends.It's a hobby mostly.
Cheryl & I are invited to your Grandma & Grandpa Adams' house for Thanksgiving dinner. We'll bring two pies for dessert. Pumpkin & Pecan, my favorite. We will miss you as we always do when our family gathers together.

Dearest Joshua,

I have been thinking of you a lot, but haven't taken time to write to you.  We have just celebrated Veterans Day and here in Sun Lakes we have a walk, we had the "Colors" and the Barber Shop Group sang, then the parade started with the Golf Carts First, G Pa didn't go, but I did and I didn't want to walk, because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to walk tomorrow, it is two miles, but a lot of people did so I joined the Golf Cart Parade.  We all had white T Shirts, with Veterans Day 6th Annual Walk, printed  then the sponsors were all printed on it. Then we all gathered in the Large Ball room and there was a lovely spread, with lots of fresh fruit, all kinds of pastries, yogurt, O J & coffee.  We had two speakers (Veterans,)  One a Medical Corpsman, and retired a Commander.  The other a Colonel in the Air Force, really distinguished 28 year career.

Then in the afternoon, we were invited to our Neighbors 90th Birthday party.  People came from all over, Illinois, Las Vegas, Apple Valley etc.  So I had a full and enjoyable day.

We went to Church today, we had a great sermon and music, solo's one was Johnny Cash's "Ragged old Flag"  It was a tribute to the Veterans. 

 I called J. R. and thanked him for his service, and also Tony, so we had a fun chat with both of them.  I reminded your Mom and Nathanial it was Veterans Day so they called your G Pa, and Thanked Him for serving.  

The Sunday before in Church we had "All Saints Day" just a year ago we participated and honored you and hung your picture along with all the other people that has passed away the past year.  I think we should hang your picture up there every year.

I have been working on our Trust, we go to Hemet to the Attorney's office, not too far and he is doing it for us.  He grew up in Anaheim, but has been in Hemet since 1976. 

I see some new pictures have been posted to your Legacy, so nice I believe Ter must have posted them. 

Nathanial is in Las Vegas working, they build paint areas, sheds to paint vehicles in.  This one is for the Fire Dept in Henderson, a town right outside of Vegas.  They are staying in such a nice place, they are supposed to work 7 days a week!  It was a 20 hour drive from Texarkana to Las Vegas, they stopped for the night and didn't drive it straight through.

I invited Ter and Cheryl for Thanksgiving, I wish Nathanial could come I don't know what they will do.  

He moved out of the Apartment and his friend and he moved to a house and will share it, I don't know why he is never there.  They painted and got it all fixed up before they moved in.  

We are going to a Show at the Clubhouse tonight it is a Tribute Group imitating Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline.  So it should be really good, they rarely ever have a Western Tribute, but last time it was to Willie Nelson and they REALLY REALLY turned out!

Tonight we watched a College Football game and the quarterback was "Josh Allen"  Oh how I wish that was you!  

G Pa commented today - I think of him a hundred times a day!  He tells you "Good Night" every night.  

My throat is tight and tears in my eyes, missing you, I understand when we have tears we really feel sorry for ourselves - perhaps true, because we want to have you around and feel sorry we can't!

Adriane, my friend and I went to the "Garage Sales" today and got some good bargains!  The golf cart was loaded down, now I have to figure out what to do with it all!  I bought something that no one knew what it was!  

G Pa & I went out for breakfast today at Denney's we like the $2, $4, section!
Last week at I H O P it was $8 $10   LOL

Your Mom is working to get everything straightened up, just has a little more work to get done.  Chey likes her new job really well, she is so fast wherever she works, the people that she works for are always amazed.  She is also studying to complete her G E D.  Then she will start on her classes to become a Phlebotomist.  Nathanial is considering a new job, that he will start at the end of the month with a friend of his, more steady than sales.

P. S.  They have water in our lakes now!  Just need to finish the edges with landscaping now, so much nicer, needs the fountain and light now!

We just had the nicest surprise, Logan, Abigail, Grace, Angel, & Juanita, your "Nana" came out on Saturday to see us.  They brought out Logan's School Picture, they are really nice just like a Studio photo.  He is getting so big and cute, and also Abby, she goes everywhere, doesn't talk a great deal, but very busy.  

We all rode on the golf cart at once, there were 6 of us!  I even let Logan steer it a little bit, just when he and Grace were riding with me, I reminded him of when he rode on your lap and you let him drive.  
He was so sweet, he was the first one out of the car to greet me, and we kissed and he said, "I miss you".  I then told him of the story when he was little, he wouldn't let me kiss him if I had on lipstick!  

Your Nana brought me beautiful yellow roses for my birthday!  I will send the picture of it and Logan's picture together.

You would have loved our day, oh G Pa and I also went to Oak Glen to Law's today for lunch and we talked about when you all came up here when Abby was just a tiny baby and Logan and I picked up Hickory Nuts and went to the Museum.  Good times, we miss you a lot!

Oh one more thing, G Pa was cleaning out the Secretary and found some of your "Homework" that you and I worked on together, "Synonyms & Antonyms."  I typed it and you did all the art work, and made up the sentences to fit them.  The art work is so good.  You drew a picture of a "Solid gold token, worth fifty- five million dollars", the sentence was, "I've got a solid gold token worth fifty-five million dollars cash in the bank."  You even drew George Washington on the coin and wrote "In God we Trust" They were all so interesting, we really enjoyed reading it.

Dearest Joshua,
I cannot write this without crying for you, this day one year ago changed our lives immensely.  I have been thinking about you so much lately.  I haven't written lately, but Ter has been keeping up correspondence lately on your Legacy & Auntie, your Mom on your Facebook.

I wish I could travel to Fairhaven to visit you today, but cannot.  I will just view our pictures the last time we were there.  

I celebrated my birthday in Royal Style this year also!  I posted some pictures on Facebook so I will select one of those to include.

I have been in contact with Chey, Nate, and your Mom lately, frequently.  We have all been dealing with life.  

I talked to Logan a while back on the phone for a minute, I will call soon and get another update, on how Kindergarten is progressing.  I believe everyone is enjoying Abigail as she is the only little one at home.

This is an especially difficult day for G Pa with the loss of his Dad and you on the same day.  He always recalls the anniversary of his parents as do all of us.  

I have "Book Club" today and we gather and go to Lunch and discuss our book.  Everyone really enjoys it.

Saying hello as my last note disappeared somewhere. I'm thinking about all the young people I have lost in my life. They all were too young to pass from this Earth, but only God knows why for each young person. We miss you!

Hi Joshua

Well it seems someone needed to come in here and get these birthday events and dates right.....just sayin'.  Ha Ha...Terry thinks your Grandma's birthday is the 25th but it is the 21st.  Shelly's is the 25th, so maybe he confused those two...who knows!!??  No matter as long as a good time is had by all at any of these celebrations.

We've had a good summer!  Labor Day was spent out here boating and celebrating Geoff's birthday which was on the 4th.  We had lots of food on the boat and enchiladas, cake and homemade ice cream here later in the evening. 12 of us altogether.  Incidentally, Geoff said it was one of his "best" birthdays ever!  Lots of birthdays, Whew! He spent 10 days here with us and the time "flew" by so fast!  He said he would come back for thanksgiving. So that is good.

It's late and I am tired, so guess I will go to bed now.  I am enclosing a picture of some of the 10 people on the boat.  Chloe got to "drive" it and that thrilled her a lot! (smile).

I was reading your Grandma Adams' recent letter and she mentioned the photo of Ruby's at the end of the HB Pier. Well, it was my birthday that day, not yours. LOL Her birthday is coming next week on 9/25, and we plan to send her something. Maybe some Prevagen (for memory improvement). Ha! Ha!
Seriously, her memory is better than mine at times. 
I'm teaching Literature this semester, and I'm planning on teaching "The Cuban Swimmer"a one-act play by Milcha Scott-Sanchez. It is hilarious and the students seem to like it a lot, too. And then we dive into Shakespeare's Othello. Fun for me and anxiety for them.

Hi Joshua,

I was looking thru the letters to you in your Legacy, each one so nice and caring, then I spotted a picture that I hadn't remembered seeing any connection to, from Ter.  It was Ruby's on the end of the Huntington Beach Pier.  

You wanted to go there one year for your Birthday, so we all went there and had hamburgers!  We went at lunchtime, and I remember we had to wait and there were a lot of us there.     He titled the picture "Ruby's Lunch Birthday Memory"

I have figured out the timing, why Jesus came for you, you were becoming the person that you wanted to be and were beginning to shine.  The decision was made, not for us to understand but, it was time for you to leave us.  We enjoyed you while you were with us, but there was a plan for you to be in Heaven. 

I feel you had prepared yourself with your love of the Bible and its teachings, and your love for your Son and family, to go on to a better place.

I am faced with another dilemma that we can discuss when we meet again.

It is getting close to my Birthday and I was treated to breakfast this morning from my friend Hazel, we really enjoyed each other and the food!

Your grandma wrote you most of the latest news and happenings around here. Cheryl and I visited your gravesite with G-Ma & G-Pa Adams. We got lost with a map. We really liked the stone with your smiling face on it. It's sad and happy mixed into the emotional pot. I only see good visions in my memories, and I also feel as if I had lost touch with my one-time close relative. We all miss you Little Cousin.

Another fast note, G Pa is playing golf this AM, it is very hot!  I am invited out to lunch today, that is always fun!  

I have learned an energy saving trick, close your house up early, turn on your ceiling fans in the morning before your house gets too warm and you can delay turning on the A/C for a while, sometimes until the early PM.  I heard it makes a 4 degree difference. We always turn off our A/C at night.

I will enclose the picture that I took of Nana, Abby, & Logan as we were leaving the Buena Park Mall after fun at the Pizza Place.

Another fast note to send a picture.  I played golf this A M and it was very warm!  We are setting heat records around here and in Anaheim.  

There is the flooding in Texas from the Hurricane Harvey, like they have never had before and it keeps hovering over the area!  

Logan also used my camera and took some pictures, so I will send one of those.

Hi Joshua,

We went to Fairhaven to see your Marker, and Ter and Cheryl came to meet us, so we had a short visit.  The Marker is beautiful, there is just a problem with the watering, it leaves spots and they form little calcium rings, so Nana was going to talk to them about it.  Whatever they put on it to preserve it when they set it didn't last or work.  I worked on it a little, but I needed a different product.

I will post the picture, we took flowers and a small potted plant of flowers, but I took those to your Nana, as I knew they would throw it all away on Wednesday.

We then went on to the Buena Park Mall and met Logan, Abigail, Grace, & Nana, at John's Incredible Pizza!  We had never been there, but we had gone to one in Tulsa, and it was similar, they have games, and rides, bumper cars, a bowling alley, lots of different eating areas after you go to the Buffet, which was really nice, Salad Bar, Fried chicken and baked potatoes or mashed potatoes & gravy, veggies, then the Pizza Bar with all kinds of Pizza, they cut it in small pieces so you can have a taste of all different kinds, then they have a dessert bar and I had a fresh warm cinnamon roll plus they had other things.  Then a coffee & hot chocolate bar, Iced tea and Sodas, plus they had a Wine Bar.

Logan, Grace, Abigail, and I all went to the games!  They operate everything by swiping a card & they can accumulate the winnings also on the card for the prizes!  Logan was very busy swiping cards!  Grace calls me "Yvonne"  so every now and then when Logan wanted my attention he called me Yvonne.   LOL

He is getting to be such a big boy, he weighs 60 lbs.  I took him some presents,  2 new school outfits and a jacket.  He guessed I brought him puzzles and Play Dough, which I did & he opened the Play Dough and played with it there.  Plus a game with a gun where you shoot at the targets.  

His hair is getting really long and I mentioned cutting it and he said "Poppy said no".   So maybe they will trim the front soon so it isn't in his eyes.

He does goofy poses when you try to take a picture of him!  He ask his Nana to see the picture of his Daddy where you are both sticking out your tongue!  She told him that she didn't have it as her phone got broken, but she told your Mom and she sent it to her, so now she has it again.    He got a kick out of seeing it!

It was an easy drive to O C this time, Corona is nice now to drive through, of course it was a Saturday and I am sure that helped.

We went to Church today and it was good as usual, our lessons have been about "The Seven Wonders of the Faith"  Today it was "I Wonder about Life After Death"  Tears in my eyes thinking of you, missing you.

Next time I will tell you of some of my dreams for you.

Hey Joshua,
I wrote a long letter earlier, but when I tried to add a photo it got lost. Anyway, I said that we went to D-Land & CA Adventure Parks a couple weeks ago. Only rode 2 rides due to heat & high humidity. Plus old age; I just turned 60 and that's getting there for me. Ha! Ha! My favorite ride of both places was Soaring Over California, but they changed it to Soaring Around the World to include the Great Wall of China, Africa, Taj Mahal, Alps, North Pole etc., and then it returns you back to D-Land at night and are greeted by Tinkerbell. Nice touch! We only stayed about 5 hours total from noon to 5pm. LOL I met up with Daisy Duck for a photo shoot and showed her how to do the "Auntie" Judy pose with me. I'll try to send the pic again, but maybe not.
We sure do miss you more and more.

Hi Joshua,

Golf is tomorrow and we are playing the game "Hot August Tees"  We get to tee up our ball in the fairway and use our driver and that usually allows us to hit it further on the long holes!  

We are enjoying the pretty succulent planter on our patio table, that the Orange County Nurse Friends gave us for your memory.  It has been 10 months now that you have been gone - Never in my life have I gone that long and not connected with you.  Tears in my eyes because I miss you.  

I took a picture of the planter and some more plants on the patio, also of our lake that is full of large machinery working on it, we are anxious for the water to be back in it and the fountain going in the daytime and the light and fountain at night time.  

Also, people are excited about the event of the Solar Eclipse to happen on August 21st. We are not in a good area to view it really good.  There is supposedly a town in Kentucky that will have a perfect viewing then it goes on across diagonally  to the Northern States, I have a cousin in Wyoming that is in a good area and they are all excited to view it - it has been referred to as the "Eye of God" in appearance.

I talked to Chey today and we are working with a Mechanic to see if we can get her car fixed, he is to call me back tomorrow morning with a firm estimate.  It needs quite a bit according to him.  I want her to go to School.  For what I want her to do she needs a G E D or H S diploma and she doesn't have the H S Diploma, I know she has passed parts of the GED, so I hope she can find a tutor to work with her where she needs extra help.

I have been texting Nathanial, and I talked to your Mom yesterday and she needs to take the Drivers test to get her license, so hopefully she will get it done ASAP.  I spoke to Louis yesterday, he called me for your Mom, her phone is broken, so she hopes to have it by Wednesday, then she called using someone else's phone after he called.  Nathanial is  interested in continuing the studies on Police Science in Ft. Scott.

G Pa played golf this AM and had a good game.  

We went to a Luau on Saturday evening and it was very nice, our Recreation Dept. put it on.  The food was good and the entertainment was a trio.  The vocalist was really good, they had 4 young adults that were the Dancers, 3 girls and 1 boy, they performed dances from Tahiti, Hawaii and New Zealand, they also had audience participation.  We got G Pa a new Hawaiian shirt to wear and I had a pretty outfit to wear, we were to go with another couple, but ended up going with just the fellow as she went to Needles to help their son.

It's been a little while since I popped in to visit with you, but think about you with loving thoughts a lot!  You are very loved and missed sweet nephew!

We've been "cruising" again....our favorite thing of recent years.  We've been on 6 or 7 in the past few years and love seeing all the pretty tropical islands in the Caribbean and ship activities...AND GOOD FOOD...LOL!  I will try to add a picture here.  Danielle & her fella Matt went along this time and had a real good time.  Their "first" at many adventures both on and off the ship.

Kind of a funny little thing happened here the other day...I have a pic of you and Nathanial on my fridge and I knocked it off accidentally, and when I picked it up I gave you a little kiss and put it back up.

It is a windy, hot  day for golf, we started early - thank goodness.

I love it when others write on your Legacy, Kaysie from Nevada, I do not know her but your Mom does, Sonja, she is magnificent and helped so much with Logan and Abigail and gets to see them often and can see such a resemblance to you in Logan.  Terry, so good to continue to share on your Legacy with what is going on in his life, he just went to Disneyland!  Auntie Judy, to keep us up on the Oklahoma gang.  Your Mom does more Facebook.

I feel the closest to you in Church and when I am alone and have no other distractions.  

Nathanial called and he played in his first golf tournament and they came in 6th out of 36 entrants.  So pretty good but not in the money.  He is taking a boxing class, not one of my sports, too scary to watch and to participate in, there is only one in the class so I guess that is almost a private lesson.

We, ladies went to Palm Springs to Billy Reed's restaurant for a Birthday Breakfast for Connie, she turned 96 and she is so beautiful and simply amazing, just uses her cane to get around.  They have good food and also sell their pastries.  I purchased a Lemon Meringue Pie and invited the ladies over that evening at 7 for dessert on the patio.  They just installed our ceiling fan that afternoon.  So we all had a great time - 10 of us total - I got 8 of us around the dining table that seats 4!  Oh the pie had at least a 5 inch high meringue on top!
I took a picture, but haven't down loaded it yet,  but I will soon and post it.

thoughts of you friend flash in my head from time to time...i can't believe still u had to leave. so many things left undone. your boy is getting so big and he looks just like you...im amazed he's so handsome. you are missed . It's been awhile since i wrote here. I've been real busy teaching Comp. 100 in summer school the last 6 weeks. I had perfect attendance in summer school for 2 yrs. running now. I had to leave an hour early once due to stomach issues. UGH! I need a vacation badly, before I lose it or burnout. I want to take a road trip, but it's hot everywhere, or on fire up north. Maybe Auburn, up in the Gold Country north of Sacramento. I get to teach Literature (my fav. class to teach) in the Fall semester. Yeah! I'll write more later.

Good Morning Joshua,

I have a lot to share - but I will limit it!  I received a "Heart" stepping stone in your memory from Bobbi, my friend and neighbor, I love it.  I put it outside by the front door beside the large rock that Irene gave to us with our name on it and a picture of a golfer.  I will share it in the photos.

I wish you could have gone to Church with us, we had the Gospel singing group,  "Solid Ground" perform for us we all enjoyed it and gave them a standing "O".

Your Nana called and they are all fine and some important documents will be signed soon about the children.  .

We had breakfast on the patio - so lovely - perfect temperature at breakfast time.  I am waiting on a call from the Handy Man about the installation of the ceiling fan for the patio - maybe we can have lunch or an evening bite if we have a fan out there!  G Pa thinks it is more trouble to go out there (he can't see the TV!)

I plan to call your Mom today and see if she ever received her B D card.

They had a big tree blow over in the back yard, so they had to get it all cleaned up and hopefully we will take out the large Cedar in the front yard.  Your Mom heard of a Company that will pay you to take it out.  The wood is valuable so that would be a good thing.

Hi Joshua,

I am the winner!  I have written more than anyone in your Legacy - I know that doesn't mean that others don't care - for example G Pa cares and he hasn't written to you!  He thinks and talks about you!.  Ter, Chey, & Auntie have all celebrated B D's and in a couple of days your Mom will have hers.  

I went to the Dr. this A M with G Pa and we were prepared for them to cut on his forehead to remove the basal cell cancer, but he examined it carefully and it is really just a clean scar and he decided not to do anything to it and just keep an eye if it comes back!  So that was good news.  
So we went to McDonalds and celebrated with a breakfast burrito!  

Then to Walmart and got a new ceiling fan, a dust buster (I have always wanted one) and a as seen on TV Hurricane Spin Scrubber!  I hope I like it!

Miss you lots - Church was really good this past Sunday We sang "They'll know we are Christians by our Love"  I really like that song.  Also our Choir Director sang a solo "Because He Lives"

Hi Joshua,

We celebrated the 4th here in Sun Lakes - it is always done well out here.  We awakened early - set our chairs on the Parade route at 06:00 AM.  There were people already there and chairs and carts already in place!  We went out for breakfast then got ready and went to the "Happenings" - Color Guard, National Anthem by the Barbershop Chorus, the Dancers had a routine to a Patriotic March.  The Floats were amazing!  A stage Coach drawn by Horses!  Thomas the Train, The Keel Boat that Lewis and Clark came West in it was to Scale 1/3 of original size.  Many beautiful Patriotic Carts & the beautiful restored Cars and pickups plus fancy new cars!

We went to some of the activities after, there were a lot of people there for lunch so we decided to eat at home this year, we had a Porterhouse steak - I will always think of you when we have them as that was our last meal to share with you.  

We went to Hemet yesterday to Polly's and had lunch and brought a Fresh Peach Pie home & I invited the Ladies here to have some late in the PM as we were all too full right after lunch to enjoy it

Your Mom called and she is working diligently to get answers .... Chey called and her B D is the 6th.  Ter just called and his B D was yesterday, he got his card and gift on time.  They got a new B B Q, they hadn't had one for years, so they were going to cook Filet Mignon's and corn on the cob, and all the goodies and watch Fire Works from their house as they can see the ones at the Beach & D Land.  

I hope Logan and everyone had a good day today.  

I wrote a letter to Claude.  I know he will be glad that I responded.

Well the Marker is all set and I called and the Lady Ruth that always gets things done, she sent me a picture by E Mail, your Nana went in person & said it was well done, they polished it and put some kind of a nice finish on it.  I will put it on the Legacy Page that I send.

Hi Joshua,

A lot of news lately, a discussion with Fairhaven again, with my ideas as to how they should have handled receiving your Marker.  I later got a message as I wasn't home that they had set it.

I got a call from your Nana this AM and she told me all about it and said it was beautiful - they had cleaned and polished and put a preservative on it, so we all felt good about it.  We will go visit soon, so we can see it.  

She said they took a picture of it, I still have not received a picture of it from Fairhaven, they had told me they would send one.  It is no longer a small Cemetery it is run by a large Corporation, so we will see if they keep their word and send a picture to me by E Mail.

We watched the "Monster Scramble" on our Patio this AM, it is a big event that draws a lot of golfers!  Some really good golfers and some not so good.  G Pa likes to just play golf, but a lot of people have a lot of fun.  

Our Charity Luncheon was really a "Gala Affair"  I didn't win any prizes, but had a great time. 

 We are going to the Fireworks tomorrow night - last year they had a great show, so I am sure it will be just as good this year.  

I told your Mom about the Marker being taken care of this afternoon.

Hello Joshua,

We had a big "Pancake Breakfast" here in Sun Lakes to celebrate "Charity Week"  We got in on the first wave.  We had scrambled eggs, sausage, and salsa for the eggs, plus of course, coffee, O J and H20.  Then after breakfast we attended the Helicopter drop, they dropped many balls and 4 of them landed in the hole and none of them were ours!

Guess what, I had such a surprise in the mail today from Claude - the man that sent us the Bible Study Courses and graded our papers.

He said he had been thinking about us a lot lately and he shared a little part of his life with me.  In 1995 he received a call that his 15 year old Granddaughter had been killed.  She was the first Grandchild. He goes on and talks about the void in our lives and how we never get over it.

He wonders what she would have become, the same as us for you.  He just wanted me to know we are not alone in our loss.  He said "God has told us He will not put more burden on us than we can carry.  Our trust is in Him, always, always.

He said "As I write this my eyes have tears"
Mine too as I read it and think about our losses of our young ones.

Happy Fathers Day in Heaven,

We know how much Logan meant to you and nothing was more Important than you two being together and you raising him to manhood.  

We are having a nice Fathers Day for Grandpa, we decided to stay home and B B Q and watch the U S Open.  It is the first time the State of Wisconsin has held a Major Golf Tournament.  It is challenging and beautiful, today it is windy, but they are managing and they seem to get a little rain each night, so that helps and the temperatures are in the 70's so that is perfect.

I believe the Marker situation is all straightened out your Nana went there and it just needed to be cleaned, so now it is fine, so hopefully they can get right on it.

Nathanial is going fishing with Brady for his B D today, they had cake and ice cream for him at his Mom's.  He didn't want to go out to eat, just fishing!  He will probably want to after fishing!

Chey has a new job with a roofing company!  I want her to go to School to learn how to be a Phlebotomist.  

OK I am going to watch the Golf - Happy Father's Day.

Hi Joshua,

A fast note, I called your Nana this evening and Logan is good.  

Apparently there is a problem with the Marker I ordered for you, the man Steven at Fairhaven was going to send me a photo of it, but it has been a week and I haven't received it, I thought he meant he was sending it right away.

So your Nana is going to go by there tomorrow and look at it and give me her opinion.  I have to have something to go on before I call the company to talk to them about whatever the problem seems to be.

Oh I finished the book "The Big Short" I am going to reread it.  I didn't realize there were so many schemes to make money in a Capitalist Democracy - I always thought the Market was like gambling - there are not as many smart people as I thought!

I didn't know much about the Sub-prime mortgages BUT I knew there were mortgages that people couldn't meet!  Then when it all fell apart I never saw so many foreclosures in the newspaper in my life for years!  They are still coming.   

Nathanial has a Birthday the 18th, this Sunday - he will be 23!  He just got an apartment, I texted him, but haven't heard back as to how he likes it and how he is doing.  I sent his card so hopefully he gets it at his Moms.  

Well Summer has arrived and it is Hot now.  I turned on the A/C for an hour late this PM.  I have a cute picture on my phone of Logan swimming in the Pool in B P but I have to get a connection to download it to my Desk Top.  I thought I had one that your Mom gave me, but it doesn't work. I have a nice picture of Ter & Cheryl at Fuddruckers, so I am posting it.
