Chris was a father of two, daughter Sarah and son Zak. He also is an abuelo to his prides and joy, his three beautiful grandchildren.
The jokester to many, Chris was the second youngest child of six to Concepcion "Joe" and Mary Lou Herrera. Chris overcame so much in his adult life and gave himself fully to the Lord and lived a wonderful life.
Chris was proud of his 16 year sobriety. We all were. He wanted to be there for his grandbabies and see them grow as the loving abuelo he was. His day job was working in janitorial, but his love and passion was being a painter. His artistic joy really came out in his work.
In his spare time, you could see him sitting around, telling some jokes and smoking his beloved cigar.
Chris's jokes, laughter and quick-wit were infectious. He could cheer anyone up if they were having a bad day. His presence might not be here with us any longer, but his beautiful legacy will remain forever.
Chris is survived by his daughter Sarah (Daraugh); son Zak; grandchildren: Delilah Joe, Izzy and Moses; his siblings: Anthony; Eddie (Frances); Rosalie "Tootsie" (Albert) and Matt. He is also survived by his 19 nephews and nieces, a ton of grandnephews and grandnieces as well as an overabundance of cousins and friends.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents: Concepcion "Joe" and Mary Lou as well as his older brother Danny and his sister-in-laws: Rita and Jennifer Herrera.
