Carroll Edward Red

Carroll was born on June 4, 1933, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the youngest of 11 children and was raised mostly by his mom, as his dad died from an accident at an early age, so Carroll did not have many memories of him except that he was very quiet. His Mom wanted to make sure that her children went to Sunday school every week, and even though being poor those days, she was able to raise them all on her own. During school years Carroll was always into sports, he loved it and was a member of Mabelvale High School football team. In 1950, is a three-year letterman and one of the top regulars on the football team, he was an all-district Star!

Right after high school graduation, in November 1952 Carroll joined the United States Air Force and after 4 years of honorable service, he was honorably discharged in August of 1956.

Carroll served in the Korean War and received several medals:

Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal,

National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

After returning home, he had few small jobs, helping one of his brothers with his small business, and later on Carroll decided to move to California, his primary goal was to buy a home. Carroll, loved dogs so he started raising little puppies and selling them he was saving every penny to buy his first house and he did it! That raised his interest to Real Estate, so he decided to get a Real Estate license and joined Tarbell Realtors in 1967 in the Westchester-Palos Verdes - Torrance areas of Los Angeles he began his career in the Real Estate business. Carroll gave his 35 years of loyalty to this one company. He loved his job of selling homes, it was so easy for Carroll because of his pleasant personality and character of persistence, hard work, courage and “I gotta Win attitude“!

Shortly after becoming the Top agent, he was promoted to a manager of the office, following later a VP, President, and a CEO working at the Corporate offices in Orange County. Carroll was a great mentor, coach, friend for many, not just the managers but also the numerous agents, always friendly, always kind, sometimes funny, joking a lot always with a big smile, but a straight shooter, always willing to share his wisdom of the business with anyone, and most importantly he was a great Leader! After giving the company his 35 years of loyalty he retired and started enjoying the rest of his life with his wife Tina, two stepchildren, Alex and Angelica and three grandchildren: Irelyn (10), Gunner (10), Reagan (8), that he held each of them after their birth, and was the best Papa ever, he cherished each of them and his actions showed that love.

Carroll loved vacations, Hawaii, Bahamas, Mexico, he loved the ocean and nice beaches, but his favorite destination was Las Vegas, playing slot machines, good food, and nice shows! His favorite place to stay was the Las Vegas Bellagio where after many years of being together, Carroll and Tina had a beautiful wedding and became husband and wife, they kept their promise to mama Anna before she went to heaven that they will officially make it happen. Their wedding followed shortly by the beautiful reception at the Kharrat’s residence in Yorba Linda, and it was absolutely beautiful thanks to Hamid, his wife and to the entire management team who came to celebrate!

Carroll’s favorite restaurant was Darya’s in the city of Orange, originally introduced to him by his best friend Hamid Kharrat, and that’s wherein 2009, Darya’s New Year’s Eve party Carroll proposed to Tina.

Carroll loved cooking and creating his own recipes, the family favorite became his Cranberry relish, he also loved to bake a pie, and they were delicious. One of his favorable hobbies besides collecting firearms was woodworking in the garage/workshop, every Christmas the grandkids took pictures with Papa on the beautiful rocking horses made by Papa Carroll, it became a family tradition and will be continued and treasured, his handmade rocking horses will be always displayed by the family Christmas tree.

Carroll was a true patriot, loved his country, loved and respected the flag and loved to celebrate July 4th! He was inspired by words of Vince Lombardy, his conversations with the grandchildren were about education, God, Church and the love of Country his recorded messages to them will be treasured forever. Carroll will be missed at Sunday’s morning services at the Corona Calvary Chapel that he regularly attended weekly almost till his last days, Carroll adored his grandchildren and always wanted to make sure that Irelyn, Gunner, and Reagan will receive the best education that will open the door for them to the best future that is ahead of them!

Carroll will be missed tremendously by everyone in the family, he will be missed by many friends, he was and always will be in the hearts of many as one of a kind that you would want to remember. Carroll, Rest In Peace forever, our LOVE will stay with you forever!❤️
