She was born in Sanford, Florida on July 15, 1998. Yliana Aileen Hernandez graduated from Deltona High School and was currently enrolled in Hawaii Pacific University; where she only had two more classes to gain her AS in Criminal Justice. Parents include Leon and Raquel Hernandez. Brothers; Joel J. Hernandez and Diego N. Hernandez.
Yliana A. Hernandez was recently contracted as a Drill Instructor for the USMC. She obtained a MCWIS Certification in March 2023 and was currently working alongside other Marines while training recruits in the pool. Although her MOS is DMO 3112 (Distribution Management Operations); she always pushed herself to have other certifications under her belt. She obtained a black belt for Martial Arts and another black belt for the USMC Rifle Marksmanship Instructor.
Yliana had a passion for Nature, Art, Music, Food and Genuine conversations. All she did commenced in her heart. She loved hard, showed friendship the same and walked with integrity. She lived and loved her truth, leaving no time for the mundane things of the world.
Yliana participated in many events, volunteering within the community. She loved children, and coached baseball and basketball. The family we have is big and she wanted nothing less than that.
Her legacy began unfolding itself in front of us as she climbed through the requirements of the USMC, and as she continuously pushed herself to overpass those requirements. Aside from the military, Yliana worked at Walmart and the YMCA. She was working on obtaining a home and pushing hard to become an E6. Little did she realize, she was already chosen. "You are now Staff Sergeant Yliana Hernandez."
Yliana wanted to inspire others all the time. Her heart wanted the best for everyone. She would give you her last shirt or shoes if need be. There were a couple of quotes she loved but the one that stands out the most is: “ The biggest risk is not taking any risk, live your life to the fullest”…and that she did.
A visitation for Yliana will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.
A funeral service and reception will occur on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Funeral Home.
