He was born in Chicago on December 8, 1944 and graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He served in the Army. He was stationed in Germany, where his wife, Shirley, joined him and taught school on the Army base. He moved to Florida with his wife, Shirley, in 1973. He was a realtor, loan officer, and car salesman.
Bob’s passion was coaching his three sons in baseball for 20 years. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Willie Nelson. He loved to philosophize, teach by telling stories, and had a boisterous laugh. He enjoyed experiencing new places, traveled to Europe and visited all 50 states.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Virginia Carr, and his sister Ginny Martinez. He is survived by his wife Shirley; sister Patty Hand; sons Joshua, Michael, Robbie; grandchildren Hollis, RIV and Ellia.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Nativity Catholic Church, 3255 N Ronald Reagan Blvd, Longwood, FL 32750. The family will host a reception at the church immediately following the service.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3 pm at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, Florida 32789.
