Maureen Frances Duffy

On Monday, November 13, 2023, Maureen Frances Duffy passed away peacefully at the age of 80 after a long, valiant battle with cancer. She fought like a warrior and died as she lived, with dignity, class and honor. Maureen was born in Ontario, Canada and after graduating from Pius XI Catholic High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin she began her almost 47 year career as an Office Manager & Bookkeeper which included 20 years at Roth Distributing Company, Inc. where she steadfastly supported the company’s treasurer. Warm, sunny weather drew her to Florida in 1980 where she continued working in a multitude of industries until her retirement from Wesco Turf in 2008.

Not too long after retiring she turned her experience with a traumatic home robbery into an opportunity to serve the community where she resided for close to 33 years by serving as an officer within the City of Longwood’s Citizens on Patrol. She could be counted on to do anything from tracking volunteer hours for the organization to directing traffic during the city’s local events. Maureen touched the hearts of many with her kindness, warmth & unwavering spirit.

She will be remembered fondly by the community of family, friends, and neighbors whose lives she touched often in the simplest ways. This amazing mother will be dearly missed by her daughter Shannon Duffy; her brother Stephen Duffy and wife Colleen; sister Susan Duffy; nephews Sean & Patrick Duffy and niece Brigid Duffy.

A visitation for Maureen will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 COunty Road 46A Sanford, FL 32771, followed by a celebration of life from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
