Loretta “Sue” Foley, 87, of Longwood, FL, passed away September 27, 2024. She was born in Detroit, MI on August 24, 1937. Sue was married to William E. Foley on April 16, 1983. She had a career as an Administrative Assistant at the Seminole County School Board in Sanford, FL and retired in 1985. Sue previously worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Pinecrest Elementary School in Sanford, FL for several years. She had a gift for working with children. Sue was a member of the Sanlando United Methodist Church and had a passion for sharing her devotion and community of faith by singing in the choir ministry. In Sue’s teenage years, she thoroughly enjoyed singing on the Boblo Boat which took passengers from Detroit, MI to Boblo Island (Canada), where the famous Boblo Amusement Park was located. While in high school, Sue also worked and modeled at downtown Detroit’s historic Crowley’s Department Store and Hudson’s Department Store. Sue’s hobbies, while growing up, were going ice skating, sledding, and tobogganing with her sister, Barbara Joan, at Rouge Park in Detroit, MI. In her leisure time, Sue always had an affection for playing the piano and singing. Sue’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, William E Foley; sister, Barbara Joan Knighton; and parents, Samuel R Shell & Minnie E Shell.
Sue was survived by her three daughters; Darlene Starr (Parker, CO), Brenda Urban & spouse Thomas Urban (Longwood, FL), and Beth Provau (Parker, CO); two stepchildren; Kevin Foley & spouse Allison Foley (Villa Park, CA) and Mike Foley & spouse Delores Foley (Clinton, TN); nine grandchildren; Andrew Bickford & spouse Rebecca Bickford (Half Moon Bay, CA), Danielle Bickford (Longwood, FL), Kyle Bandy & spouse Cayla Cappello (Aurora, CO), Nick Starr (Lakewood, CO), Natalie Provau (Parker, CO), Emma & Abby Foley (Villa Park, CA), and Sarah & Monica Foley (Clinton, TN); and two great-grandchildren; Christopher Drayton (Longwood, FL) and Harrison Mac Bandy (Aurora, CO).
