Elizabeth (Betty) Appel Ketelhut, 95, of Lake Mary, Florida, passed away December 5, 2024. She was born in Bronxville, New York on November 22, 1929. Betty graduated from The Knox School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University. She married William F. Ketelhut on December 8, 1951. In addition to raising her four children and foreign exchange student, Betty dedicated herself to volunteering for the Illinois Children’s Home and Aid Society (ICH&A), The Art Institute of Chicago, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Hospice and various church committees. She had a passion for travel, sewing, craft projects, tap dancing and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph H. Appel Jr and Elizabeth R. Appel. She is survived by her husband, William F. Ketelhut, her children William J. Ketelhut (Mary Beth), Susan Ketelhut Hyde (Gordon), Elizabeth (Betsy) Ketelhut Koepsel (Ron), and Nancy Ketelhut Elberg (Bart), 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The Funeral service will be held at 2:00 on January 11th at Markham Woods Presbyterian Church.
