Cheryl Ann (Fabiano) Laurent passed peacefully on Holy Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Orlando, Florida, where she lived for the past 13 years. Cheryl was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island, shortly after marrying her husband Christopher in 1974, to whom she was married for 34 years, until Chris’ passing in 2008.
She was predeceased by her mother Doris Yvonne (Vanasse) Fabiano, Father Vito Guido Fabiano, Sister Robin (Fabiano) Penn, and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her Goddaughter and Niece Audrey Penn of Florida, Godson Cullen Miller, Goddaughter Aysanna Miller, Brothers-in-law David Penn and Royal Laurent, Sisters-in-law Mimi Laurent and Christine Laurent, Nephews Arthur and Jack Penn, David, James, and Marc Laurent, and Niece Sarah Tyra.
She and Chris loved their various chihuahuas over the years. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She loved Italian food and adored the traditions and memories of her early childhood as Daddy’s Little Girl and her father’s cooking.
Cheryl graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1970. She worked for Rhode Island Hospital, where she met the love of her life, her husband Chris, and continued to work for the hospital for 39 years from 1971 until her retirement in 2010 as the secretary of the central transport department.
She was known for her humor and wit, love of various genres of movies, and books about history, animals, movie stars, and politics.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at the Community Church of Providence, 372 Wayland Ave, Providence, RI 02906 followed by coffee and Italian pastries.
