Betty Jean Roberson

She was born April 21, 1933, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Romulus and Estelle Ballew. Upon high school graduation she went to work for a bank in Norfolk, VA. She then went to work for FEMA as a Housing Advisor in 1981, and finally retiring in 2013.

She traveled extensively throughout the United States during her time with FEMA, even once traveling to Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific. After retirement she became even more active in her Church, Central Baptist in Sanford, FL. She truly loved people and delighted in doing things for them. She was a member of Eastern Star, Deland, FL Chapter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude N. "Robbie" Roberson, Sr. She is survived by her two children: Judy A. Jett of Sanford and Claude N. "Pete" (Dottie) Roberson Jr. of Sanford; six grandchildren: Mariah Lynn Jett of Sanford; Michael Patrick (Cathryn) Jett of Sanford; Eric J. (Daryn) Jett, USMC (Ret.) of Coeur d'Alene, ID; Daci L. (Greg) Jett of Chicago, IL; DeeDee (Timothy) Christian of Sorrento; and Cindy (Michael) Decker of Deltona. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Bob) Spence, of Viera, FL; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and her many friends and colleagues.

A memorial service will be held at Central Baptist Church in Sanford on March 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
