He left this world suddenly on March 20, 2024 at age 53 and his bright smile is already missed by all who knew him. William was born on June 23, 1970 in Okinawa, Japan and maintained an attachment for anything Japanese throughout his lifetime. William was the eldest child born to the union of Arthur L. and Bessie Lassic Brown and became a loving big brother when their family expanded after the births of two daughters, Nicki and Celeste.
William began his educational journey in Ft. Hood, Texas. As a member of a military family he attended seven additional schools. Upon graduation from high school he enrolled at DeVry Technical Institute. His plans were altered when he learned that his son Elaunte’ was on the way. William joined the Army to provide for his family and eventually completed his radio repair training. Not long after he began his career in the Army he was blessed with a daughter, Saran. In his later years, William became the proud grandfather to 3 grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as “G Pop”.
William possessed a love for the outdoors and found enjoyment by taking long distance bike rides, camping, and kayaking. He was also a cigar aficionado and took great pride in his skills with barbecuing and smoking meats.
Everyone who met William was instantly charmed by his pleasant personality. He kept people amused and rolling with laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. William’s love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. His loved ones will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest and keeping his memory alive in their hearts.
Cherishing his memory are his devoted mother, Bessie Lassic Brown; son, Elaunte Brown; daughter, Saran Brown; sisters, Nicki Brown and Celeste (Franck) Adote; grandchildren, (Calyese and Victory (Saran), and Amari (Elaunte’)
