Travis Scott Thompson was born April 16, 1965 and died on September 2, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Ann Thomson; brother, George Thompson, III; mother-in-law and father-in-law; two sisters; four brothers-in-law; seven nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, George Wallace Thompson, Jr. and his mother, Linda West Thompson. Travis Thompson worked for many years as an IT Manager at Orange Business Solutions. Mr. Thompson was the primary researcher and second author of Beyond the Land of Gold: The Life and Times of Perry Burgess, which was the conclusion of many years of genealogical research. Travis was a kindhearted family man who loved his family and was greatly loved in return. The family will receive friends Friday, September 7, 2012 from 6 to 8 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. A memorial service will be Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11 o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. Flowers will be appreciated or contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
