He was a beloved father, husband, and grandfather.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, he attended Lane Technical High School and graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1963, he married Adrienne née Motykie and remained happily married for the remainder of his life.
He had a thirst for independence, challenge, and innovation, leading to multiple moves across the country until he realized being his own boss was the most satisfying arrangement. But before he finally settled in Georgia in 1979, he and his wife had 6 children, all born in different towns and instilling in them a sense of adventure and the ability to embrace change. Throughout his life, he modeled good will to others and a helping hand to those in need. His children are all the better for it.
Although a man of few words, it was apparent that he treasured family above all else and was always a unifying voice for his children, reminding them of what is truly important.
He is survived by his wife, Adrienne; his children, Cindy, Steve, Karen, David, and Michael; sons-in-law, John, Richard, and Marcus; daughter-in-law, Amy; and grandchildren Rachel, Benjamin, Katherine, Aaron, James, and Morgan; sister, Dolly; and brother, Harry.
