Terry Pintchuck Ehrlich Green Ney, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories. She was born on September 22, 1930, in Augusta, Georgia, to Sophie Lee Schneider Pintchuck and Louis Pintchuck, both of whom preceded her in death. Terry was immensely proud of her family and found joy in her role as a wife, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She delighted in time spent with her family and spoke often and fondly of them.
Terry was born in Augusta, and spent her early years in Waynesboro, Georgia, where she enjoyed a happy childhood with her siblings Harriet P. Goldberg (Robert) and Louis Pintchuck, Jr. (Maxine). After graduating high school, she attended Wesleyan College for Women before transferring to the University of Georgia in Athens, where she studied Interior Design. Terry was a proud member and vice president of the Sigma Delta Tau chapter at the University of Georgia. It was there that she met her first husband, Clarence L. Ehrlich. They were married for 17 years and had three children: Mary E. Smith, Elizabeth Ann Ehrlich Taratoot, and Fredrick Lee Ehrlich.
After her divorce, Terry lived in Augusta, raised her 3 children, and worked for 10 years as the secretary to the Golf Pros at Augusta National Golf Club. Afterward, she moved to Atlanta in 1971, where she worked as a banker for four years. In 1974, she married Frank Green and lived in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Together they worked for RNK Women’s Clothing, a successful fashion business at Atlanta Apparel Mart. Terry was a dedicated member of The Temple from 1971 until her passing.
She later married Stanley Ney, and they shared 17 wonderful years together. Following Stanley’s passing, Terry moved to The Piedmont at Buckhead, where she continued to engage in social activities and enjoy her vibrant community. She treasured her time there and felt incredibly fortunate to be surrounded in her later years by her loving and devoted caregivers, Emelia Amartey, Carol Williams and Bervelyn Benson. Also, many thanks to Eunice Edmonds of AGAPE for her assistance through the years of her stay at The Piedmont Buckhead.
Terry was a spirited and social woman with a zest for life. She was an accomplished bridge player, an avid walker, and enjoyed participating in several exercise classes to stay active and connected. Her generosity was seen in her volunteerism and philanthropic contributions to many charities.
She also loved to travel and was especially fond of spending time with her close-knit group of friends known as “The Good Time Girls.”
Terry had a natural talent for entertaining, and her home was always the heart of celebrations. She was the family’s go-to for floral arrangements, event décor, and was widely regarded as an exceptional cook. Her recipes, hosting flair, and hospitality brought people together and created lasting memories for all who knew her.
Her leadership, kindness, and vibrant personality were exemplified in everything she did throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Leroy Ehrlich, Frank Green and Stanley Ney; parents, Sophie Lee Schneider Pintchuck and Louis Pintchuck; sister, Harriet P. Goldberg; nieces, Beth Goldberg and Ellen Rose Goldberg; nephew, Scott Pintchuck; and Beth’s long-time companion, Harvey S. Gray.
Terry is survived by her three children, Mary E. Smith (Harold), Elizabeth Ann Ehrlich Taratoot, and Fredrick Lee Ehrlich; three grandchildren, Audrey L. Smith, Lindsay Smith Yaggi (Michael Yaggi), and Matthew Lee Smith; three great grandsons, Ashton Jaynes, Tyler Jaynes and Isaac Yaggi; and her brother, Louis Pintchuck (Maxine).
Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on April 16th beginning at 11:00 am at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel located at 173 Allen Rd NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328 with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Temple or the charity of your choice.
