Richard L. Schubert passed on November 11, 2017. Dick was a devoted husband to Judith Graves Schubert for 52 years and loving father to his four children. He was a strong, intelligent man with a quick wit and dry sense of humor. After training with Merrill Lynch in New York in the early 70s, Dick moved to Atlanta in 1973 and began his career as a stock broker. His first job in Atlanta was with Robinson Humphrey. Dick moved to Alex Brown and Sons where he created the asset management department (AMES) and was managing director for many years. Dick extended his financial skills to Morgan Keegan before becoming partner at Register and Akers. His last position was as a managing director at Raymond James before his retirement at the age of 70. Dick was a man of many talents, always goal oriented, a natural problem solver and driven to achieve. Outside of his family and his career, one of his proudest accomplishments was his involvement with Dynamo Swim Club. He was the first president of Dynamo and worked tirelessly to purchase the land and build the swim facility that still exists today. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, DIY projects on his house and riding his BMW motorcycle. He was always up for an adventure and made sure that his family had experiences each would never forget. Dick’s primary enjoyment was traveling and his trips were orchestrated to perfection. His dedication to his wife, children and grandchildren was evident daily as he provided and shared experiences with them. From traveling, riding motorcycles through the Alps, Alaska and Africa, bone fishing in Belize, to attending countless swim meets, football, baseball, and soccer games, Dick was a man who led by example. He lived a life focused on his family and what a powerful life it was! He is survived by his wife, Judi, four children, Stefanie (Edwin) Fromayan, David Schubert, Barrett (Barbara) Schubert, and Courtney (Mark) Joines, and eight grandchildren Eason Fromayan, Brenna Fromayan, Holden Fromayan, Sarah Schubert, Philip Schubert, Edward Schubert, Ben Joines and Elsie Joines. He is preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Arno Schubert, Sr., his older brother Arno Schubert, Jr., and his brother in law Jack Woodall. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16th at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel in Sandy Springs from 6:00pm-7:30pm. A funeral mass will be held Friday, November 17th at 2:00pm at All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody.
