Michael J. Skowronski, 68, Marietta, GA, passed away January 1, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Catherine A. Skowronski, Marietta, GA; his four children: Christine Skowronski, Houston, TX; Matthew Skowronski, Ormond Beach, FL; Mark Skowronski, Gainesville, FL; David Skowronski, Cary, NC; his granddaughter Emily Skowronski, Ormond Beach, FL; his brother Peter Skowronski, Ahwahnee, CA; and his sister Veronica Skowronski, Chicago, IL. Mike grew up in Chicago, IL, and graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1965 and from the University of Miami with a M.S. in Management Technology in 1995. Mike had a passion for scientific research and produced over 30 patents in the polyurethane foam industry. Mike recently retired from Dow Chemical Company after 15 years of service. His professional accomplishments have been recognized by the US Center for Polyurethane Industry. Mike will be remembered as a devout Catholic, faithful husband, and a loving father. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, January 6, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, 173 Allen Rd. NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4465 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30327. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Hwy NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
