Dorothy Jean Rollins Hodges, 82, a native Atlantan died Sunday, the 22nd of September, 2013 peacefully at her Alpharetta residence with her husband by her side. Dot was a graduate of Decatur High School and continued her studies at Agnes Scott College where she majored in Science. She was an avid golfer, dancer, and runner. Above all Dot Loved God! Outside of taking care of family her life revolved around church and her lifelong Christian Faith. She was active at St. James United Methodist Church and Dunwoody Baptist Church before settling at Johns Creek Baptist Church. Dot was preceded to the Lord's house by her daughter, Lisa Louise Hodges and her son, William S. Hodges Jr. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, William S. Hodges; her brother, Luther C. Rollins Jr.; his four children, Trey, Chet, Art, and Marlyn; 15 great nieces and nephews; and dear family friends, Chet and Melissa Lacy and their two children. The family would like to recognize and give very special thanks to Dot's caregiver of over seven years, Lucia Ngweya. Funeral services celebrating Dot’s life will be held Wednesday afternoon, the 25th of September, at two o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel with Dr. G. Gil Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family Wednesday afternoon from one o’clock until the hour of service at H. M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
