Charles E. “Charlie” Harris, III, 76, of Atlanta died on Tuesday, the 7th of September 2021. Charlie was born in Albany, Georgia and spent his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia and St. Louis, Missouri, graduating from Kirkwood High School in 1963. He then attended and graduated from Emory University in Atlanta in 1967, where he was a proud member of SAE fraternity. Charlie enrolled in law school at Mercer University, graduating in 1970. He served as First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. He returned to Atlanta, where he practiced real estate law for over 40 years, spending the last 15 years of his career at Stewart Title as Vice-President, Senior Underwriting Counsel.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Carrie Harris; Chad’s mother, Kay Harris; grandchildren, Grayson, Griffin; brother and sister-in-law, Brooks and Martha Harris; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation and reception with the family Monday, the 13th of September from six until eight o’clock in the evening at H.M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Road, NE, Sandy Springs. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, the 14th of September at eleven o’clock in the morning at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt.
