Brian Kerwin Day—precious son, beloved brother, treasured friend—passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Hoboken, New Jersey at the age of 28. Brian’s razor-sharp wit and infectious smile lit up our lives, made us laugh without stopping, and enriched us all beyond words. He was a sweet, loyal, gentle giant who cared so deeply for his family and vast network of friends. Time spent with Brian was one of life’s great privileges. Marching to his own beat from the beginning, Brian grew up in Marietta, Georgia under the loving eyes of Van and Ellen Day, and delighted in sports and mischievous adventures with his two brothers. After graduating from Wheeler High School he embarked on a football career at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, where he was a four-year starting offensive lineman and was voted Team Captain his senior year. Upon graduating from Sewanee with a degree in History, he headed north to New Jersey, where he earned a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law and was sworn in to the New York State Bar. Through all of his travels, Brian’s kindness, his humor, his intelligence, his laughter, his interminable faith and spirit, his one-of-a-kind perspective, and his genuine zeal for life brought love, respect and admiration from friends of every stripe. Brian is survived by his father, Van, and his brothers Brendan and Christopher. Brian will be laid to rest next to his sweet mother, Ellen, in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Arrangements under the direction of Sandy Springs Chapel, Sandy Springs, GA.
