SULLIVAN, Richard (Dick, Pa) John, 80, of Forestdale, MA. Passed away on Veterans Day November 11, 2022 at Orchard View Manor in Riverside, RI surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicopee, MA on August 19, 1942 to the late William and Anita Sullivan (Gliesman).
Richard is survived by his wife Kathleen Sullivan (Roe) of 55 years in Marriage in Lake George, New York. He is also survived by his brother William J. Sullivan and wife (Jo anne) of Mashpee and sister-in-law Eleanore (Rusty) Roe of Latham, NY.
His children; Kevin Sullivan of Hyannis, Colleen Sullivan of Pocasset and Stacy (Sullivan) Muir of Forestdale. Grandchildren; Stephanie Muir, Thomas Sullivan, Brian James Muir, Alex Sullivan, Amanda (Sullivan) Bewer, Rory Sullivan and Great Grandchild Sadie Bewer And many nieces, nephews, close friends and Our Special Family in New York.
He loved spending time with his family, watching his grandsons play basketball, building anything made of wood and all electrical projects, loved all his animals, westerns, Christmas and of course “Christmas Vacation” and spending holidays with all of our family, he loved our country and was proud to be a Veteran.
Richard grew up in Chicopee and graduated from Chicopee Vocational. He then joined the United States Air Force in 1960 during the Vietnam War, then he was an on-call firefighter/EMT for Liverpool NY before moving to Sandwich MA in1973 with his family, he was on-call firefighter for the Sandwich FD owned his own business Sullivan Appliance/Electric, he then became an Electrical Engineer with his last place of work at SAR Engineering in Quincy, MA before he became a 100% disabled Vet.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 188 in Sandwich which he helped build, Charter Member of Rod and Gun Club in Sandwich, Charter Member of the Liverpool Elks, Member of the Knights of Columbus and Member of the DAV.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 16th from 4-8pm. Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday November 17th at 12 pm, Corpus Christi Parish, 326 Quaker Meeting House Road Sandwich, MA. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:45pm.
