Dick was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on November 27, 1956 to the late Walter and Anna (Flanagan) Oldham. Dick grew up in Brockton and graduated from the Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1974. After high school, Dick followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the United States Marine Corps. Dick served in the Reserves for twelve years. He was a proud veteran and fondly told stories of his time spent as a Marine.
Dick was a talented builder throughout southeastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and Islands. His business name, Long Board Builders, was a nod to his love of long board surfing and the ocean.
Dick was a caring, dedicated, and loving father and Papa. His commitment to his family was unmatched. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and those memories will always be cherished by his family.
He is survived by his daughter Tiffany C. Burk and her husband David of Braintree, and his grandchildren; Ava and Theo. His siblings, Patricia Oldham, James Oldham, Margaret Burbank, Kathleen Perry, Stephen Oldham, Amy Duffield, Michael Oldham, and Charles Oldham, as well as his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Anna Oldham, and his brother, Walter P. Oldham III.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, 11am at Saint Peter's Cemetery in Sandwich.
