Dennis is survived by his wife and best friend of 45 years, Ellen (Kickham) Green; his 4 sons Ryan, his wife Michelle Kelly Green, Cory, Connor and Devin; and his siblings Bob, Chuck, Rich Green, Carol Cole and Sue Ryan. Dennis was predeceased by his brother, James Green.
Dennis was born in Boston, on August, 21, 1951 to the late Charles E Green Jr and Marguerite Green. He Graduated from Randolph High School in 1969 and Boston State College in 1974, where he played football and baseball. He also earned a Master’s in 1980 from Suffolk University, while playing semi-professional baseball and football. He taught Physical Education and Special Education in the Middleborough school system for 30 plus years. He coached football, baseball, and basketball at various high Schools throughout the South Shore during his tenure.
Dennis went on to start the Girls’ Volleyball Program at Middleborough High School and took over the Sandwich High School Boys’ Basketball Program, which reached the South Sectional final in 2014-15. He survived Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2009, and was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in September of 2019. He continued coaching both sports throughout chemo, radiation and brain surgery.
He loved many things, but none before his family and Sandy Neck Beach. His family and friends will find peace in remembering his larger-than-life personality, his witty sense of humor and his infectious laughter.
