Gloria my deepest sympathy to you and your family. I miss seeing Chet's smiling face!!! He alway was a pleasure to be around  when I worked with him at MWR many years ago on Otis.  We still have one of his birdhouses he crafted for us years ago and treasure it!  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this trying time.

Mr. Chet was a dear friend, who my girls looked up to as a grandpa. At church they would want to sit with him. Even though we left the Cape 15 years ago, they still remember him and think of him fondly. We still have bird houses the girls painted with him and two that I bought for my parents.
I sang with he and Glo in the Otis Chapel Choir. Such fun times!!! Christmas won't be the same without my package from Mr. Chet with the yearly ornament.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family.  I will miss seeing Chet's smiling face at the craft shows selling his birdhouses. Michaela always called him the "birdhouse man" and loved building the birdhouse kits we would buy.  Loved it when he would stop in my office on base to get his vehicle decal and we would just talk ragtime.  He was a wonderful man. Much love to you.

Sharing in Your Sorrow & Rejoicing With the Angels...Chet was the Best neighbor anyone could ever hope for...I have a Birdhouse he made to always remind me of all he did for me when I moved in next door...He took the old shingles & scraps of wood when I put my new addition on & he made a Birdhouse to resemble the Old house...He shared with us his talents & much Wisdom. I just want to express my sympathy to the Nelson Family. I met Chet at the Falmouth Hosp. rehab program. He was so kind to me and shared his experiences  with treatment I was still facing. I want to let his grandchildren know that he spoke of them often, especially wanting to be able to eat pizza and pickles with them while they talked about everything. I have one of his birdhouses in my yard and will think of him often.

Gloria...I just looked at all the photos and enjoyed so much looking back on Chet's life.  Such beautiful photos of him, you and your wonderful children and grandchildren..of which he bragged about all the time!  Don't forget Vanna....I think she gave him some fun for the past couple of years too!  I will always think of Chet while I walk on canal...not quite the same without his daily words of wisdom.  The "Birdhouse Man" lives on in spirit through his craft and kindness to others.  May Peace and love carry on for you and your family.
