William was born in Nampa, ID on April 18, 1937. He graduated from Lincoln High School and continued on to receive a Master’s Degree from The University of Washington.
William was married to Julie on April 14, 1990 on top of a hill in back of Evergreen Valley College; they were married 30 years, and were together for 38 years.
William worked as a Professor of English for Evergreen Valley College for 50 years. He loved wood working and the flowers in his garden. He served as the Evergreen Valley College President of the Academic Senate for a number of years until he was elected to the California Community College Academic Senate Executive Committee. After retirement he was elected as President of the Retirement Union.
Before retirement he estimated that he taught between 11,000 and 12,000 students.
William is survived by his spouse Julie, great-grandchild Oliver, grandchildren: Jordan, Alyssa, Zachary, Miranda, Miles, Jude, Matthew, William and Jacob, his sister Fran, his children, Julian, Royal, Reesa, Patti, Renee, Sherrie, and by his great friends Walter Soellner and Pat Ferraro.
William is preceded in death by Colonel Royal Jacobs and his mother Irene Jacobs.
