Teresa Ann Powers

Teresa Ann Dwyer Powers, 86, of San Jose CA passed away on October 12, 2024. She was born on July 20, 1938 at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose CA. She was a daughter of the late Daniel and Barbara Stachler Dwyer.

Teresa was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald Eugene Powers. She also was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Sonntag and her brother Daniel Dwyer.

She is survived by 4 sons and three daughters-in-law, Michael Powers (Chon) of San Jose, Darren Powers of San Jose, Gary Powers (Marilee) of Santa Cruz, and Greg Powers (Denise) of Morgan Hill; Eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; she also leaves many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Her greatest love was her family. She also enjoyed reading, word games, arts and crafts, gardening. She particularly loved to spend time with her children, grand children and great-grand children.

She was the primary caregiver in six end of life type situations for sick and elderly family members. She was a brave, loyal, trustworthy, dignified and extremely special woman who was loved and respected by everyone who knew her.

A memorial service for Teresa will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Drawing Room Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 1804 Bird Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125.
