In Loving Memory
Tacklin Tejada Collado (1936-3024), the eldest patriarch of the Collado family, unexpectedly passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024. He hailed from Tayug, Pangasinan in the Philippines and spent more than 30 years for the remainder of his life in the United States.
Tacklin was always doing something. You would catch him buried in a book or scanning through online articles. He was always reading and writing. His admiration for beaches and mountains, nature and outdoors in general, comes with his enthusiasm for health and fitness. As his photos would attest, he also had a knack for suiting up nicely. Coupled with his love for knowledge and his active industriousness, he partook in several trades as an airport cab driver, cook, salesman, businessman, professor, and more.
In the spirit of being a great provider, his life is a testament of his strong character, strong-will, selflessness, and at times, stubbornness, as he would admit. Tacklin was a generous son, friend, uncle, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted spouse and caregiver to his wife of 65 years. He was always something to someone.
Above all, he ran the most significant path with all the strength and resources he had. Thus, his legacy: lifetime pursuit of a faithful and zealous servant of Jehovah God. Throughout his roles, Tacklin always remembered Jehovah and everyone, and he, too, shall remain in Jehovah’s book - in His memory - ‘til everlasting life comes.
A middle child among three siblings, Tacklin was predeceased by his sister, brother, and their parents. He was survived by his spouse, children, and grandchildren.
To our “manong,” uncle, “Tackle”, “apong,” “lolo,” “lakay,” and papa:
We meditate on one of your best-loved Bible texts at John 6:40, “… that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him…” Looking forward to a lifetime where you travel endlessly - may it be in the alps and salmons of your favorite Alaska or in the rice fields and rivers of your hometown! Agkinkinita tayo manen… idyay paraiso a daga.
