The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 6th, 2023 at Oak Hill Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Commitment of the ashes with Military Honors at Oak Hill Cemetery will follow the the funeral.
Bob was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 6, 1941. He graduated from Wauwatosa High School. He graduated with a degree in photography from Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, a BS in Aeronautics from St Louis University, and a Masters in Business Management from Central Michigan University. Upon graduating college he received his commission as an Air Force Intelligence Officer, serving overseas in the Middle East and Europe with the Air Force Security Service, and the Western Pacific with the 8th Air Force.
He went on to a civilian career with Lockheed-Martin as a Systems Engineer in their Space Systems Division. Since retirement he has been doing research on the life of his great grandfather during the Civil War. Bob was Past Commander of the Phil Sheridan Camp Number 4 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil war. He is a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. As Vice President of the United Veterans Council he organized the largest Memorial Day Ceremony in Santa Clara County. He also
organized a fundraising program for UVC for the annual Veteran’s Day Parade in 2006, the largest parade of its kind in Northern California.
Bob is is survived by his sister, Ellen DuCharme (Ted), Niece Jennifer Wahlin (Mike), nephew, Thomas Beischel (LaDonna), great nieces and nephew and other family and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Stauff Kadlec and father, Jerry Kadlec and sister, Kathleen. The family wishes to thank the VA Hospital Palo Alto, members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 201, the United Veterans Council, Phil Sheridan Camp 4, friends and neighbors for their kindness and friendship to Bob during his life in California.
