Rachel was born in San Jose, CA on March 18, 1960. Rachel was the fifth out of six children. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and went on to work at Bank of the West and FedEx for 40+ years as a customer service representative and after retiring she worked as an operator at Bass Pro sporting goods store for 2 years.
Rachel truly embraced life to the absolute fullest and enjoyed traveling to Mexico with friends and family and loved her gambling excursions to the local casinos. She also loved the beach, holidays and lots of family gatherings with her many nieces and nephews. Rachel was witty, creative, and a cat lover. She cared for every stray cat in the neighborhood and named them all. She also enjoyed cooking for family and friends, her famous "papas" for breakfast.
Rachel had the ability to light up the room wherever she was and always had a big smile on her face. She will be deeply missed and cherished in the lives of her 4 siblings, sisters Debbie Neitro, Marti Vasquez, Monica Doran (Matt) and brother David (Davey) Vasquez Jr. along with her 5 nieces and nephews, 4 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews, and family and friends.
Rachel is preceded in death by her father, David Vasquez Sr. and mother Irene Ruiz Vasquez, brother David Vasquez II and niece Mallory Grace Doran.
The family of Rachel Vasquez wishes to thank all the family and extended family that helped care for Rachel and the staff of Bridge Hospice and VITAS Hospice for the incredible care they provided.
