Martha Edwards, 75, passed away on November 20, 2015 at her home, in the presence of her loving family.
Martha was born to Arthur and Edith Pearson on September 4, 1940. She grew up on the family farm in Almaden with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters, Jimmy, Wayne, Carl, Ellen and Charlene. She attended Almaden Grammer School through the 8th grade.
She attended High School at Campbell, Camden, and finally Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley. This is where she met her high school sweetheart William Claude Edwards. Martha and Claude wed on June 20, 1959.
Martha and Claude settled in Santa Clara. They raised three children, Cynthia, Jennifer and Matthew. Martha was always involved with her kids and their many activities through PTA, as a Girl Scout Leader, editor of the School Newsletter.
Martha returned to college and graduated from San Jose State University with her degree in Health Care Management. She had a fulfilling 15 year career at Kaiser Permanente Hospital before she retired.
In her retirement, Martha enjoyed traveling and took special pride in being a grandmother. She was also a talented artist. She loved to paint and sculpt. She was a member of the Santa Clara Art Association where she was a multi-year award winner in their yearly shows.
Martha was fun loving, had a great sense of humor, and a generous heart. She was very spiritual and believed in living in the moment. Martha will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, William Claude Edwards; Her children and their families, Cindy and Tom Dowd. Jennifer and Jim Feasby, and Mathew Edwards; Grandchildren Kelly, Andrew and his wife Sara, Tessa, Christopher, Kyle, Casey, and Nicole. Also, her sister Charlene Unger and her brothers Jimmy, Wayne and Carl Pearson and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Edith Pearson, and her sister Ellen Spencer.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of her life on Monday December 28, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose. Followed by a reception at the Britannia Arms, 5027 Almaden Road, San Jose.
