Lucy Huyen Nu Cong Nguyen

Our beloved Lucy Huyen Nu-Cong Nguyen, passed away on September 17, 2023, aged 64 in San Jose, CA. She was born on May 23, 1959, in Vietnam. A cherished daughter, she leaves behind her father Minh Van Nguyen. Lucy was an adored wife to Paul Binh Tan Nguyen and a devoted mother to Anna Wu, Joseph Nguyen, and Son Nguyen. She was also a cherished grandmother to Sara Wu, Braden Wu, Mya Tran, Zoë Nguyen, Alyssa Onyeagwa, Nathan Nguyen and Olivia Nguyen.

Lucy had a deep faith and was an active member of Our Lady of Refuge and St. Francis of Assisi. She found solace in her religious practices and drew strength from her community. Lucy's dedication to her church extended beyond worship, as she actively participated in church activities, charitable events and served in the church choir. She found great satisfaction in helping others, with one of her life achievements of bringing her parents and siblings over to America; achieving the American dream.

Lucy indulged in various hobbies that brought her great joy and fulfillment. She had a passion for fashion and always embraced her cultural heritage through her ever-expanding collection of beautiful “Ao Dai”. Lucy also loved exploring new places through traveling and had a beautiful voice that she shared through singing. She loved spending time in her garden with her husband, a garden that produced many fruits and vegetables which she generously shared with everyone she knew. Lucy valued healthy habits, keeping an active lifestyle and enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her loved ones.

A prayer service for Lucy will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. The prayer service will take place on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Refuge, located at 2165 Lucretia Avenue, San Jose, CA 95122. Prior to the funeral service, a visitation will occur from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park.

The family has entrusted Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125, with the arrangements for Lucy's final journey.

Lucy Huyen Nu-Cong Nguyen will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May her soul rest in peace.
