David Jordan Castro

Born July 8, 1993, David was the first grandchild in his family, and forged a special bond with his namesake, his grandfather David. David was taken too soon and will be greatly missed by his mom, sisters, grandparents, godparents, cousins, nieces, nephew, friends and his beloved dog Kobe!

One of David’s greatest attributes was his ability to hold and diligently maintain countless close relationships. He was always there to offer a ride or an ear to a friend. He was a safe person to turn to. His non-judgmental, humorous nature was infectious to everyone – including Kobe, who followed him everywhere like a shadow.

David was a thoughtful, caring and loyal young man, always willing to lend a hand, especially in the kitchen. He had a passion for cooking, and enjoyed doing this for his grandmother Maria and his Mom. He loved to show care for friends and family by making a favorite recipe.

David always worried about his family and friends as he loved and cared deeply for the people in his life. He loved animals and they loved him. All the family pets would run to him and feel safe and secure in his arms. His caring and gentle nature made him the honorable young man he was.

Growing up, David would watch his favorite movies on repeat, like Space Jam and The Lion King. His empathic nature was visible early on from his tendency to cry at moments like Mufasa’s death. David also enjoyed video games – a pastime that remained a favorite hobby throughout his life.

David had many friends, from lifetime childhood friends, co-workers to new acquaintances. He loved music, dancing, traveling and attending music festivals. He also loved having “family” dinners with his many friends.

David’s absence will be felt by so many. He is survived by his mother, Andrea Consuelo Castro, his grandparents David and Maria Castro and Maggie Munoz, his sisters Selena Teruel, Priscilla Munoz, and Paulina Santellano, godfather Tony Llanes along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and his nephew. He is predeceased by his father Paul Santellano.

Memorial services will be hosted in his honor.
