It is with deep regret that the Sandoval Family announces the passing of Daniel Castillo Sandoval. He was born in Irwindale, California on October 26, 1928, and passed away on June 20, 2021 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 92. His parents were Robert Roman Sandoval and Mercedes Castillo from Guanajuato, Mexico. He was married to his wife Yvonne and in May they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He leaves behind three daughters, Michele, Caron and Debra, two son-in-law’s Michael and Eric, seven grandchildren Aaron, Janelle (Sean), David (Nicole), Kelsey, Kristen, Tyler and Heather. He was a great-grandfather to Hershel, Ernest and Hunter. Daniel’s siblings were Eldo, Sarah, Robert II, and Ezekiel and he was preceded in death by Esther, Reverend Samuel and Lydia. He attended San Jose High School and San Jose State University. Daniel joined the United States Air Force and retired with 21 years of service, whereupon he moved back to his native San Jose to work for the City of San Jose’s Public Works Department and retired with 23 years of service. He also attended and served on the church Board for Templo Monte Sinai, attended and volunteered at Jubilee Christian and Bethel Churches of San Jose. During his tenure in the military and on his travels, he also attended many churches overseas. He was a friend and faithful prayer warrior to many, longtime servant of the Lord and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Christian services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021, with the viewing at 10:00 a.m., service to begin at 11:00 a.m. and reception to follow until 2:00 p.m. at the Willow Glen Funeral Chapel, San Jose which will be officiated by Senior Pastor Edward Crable. The burial with full military honors will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos on July 2, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. following the chapel service.
