Maria de Jesus Garcia Portillo

Maria De Jesus Garcia Portillo passed away on December 31, 2023 in San Jacinto, California. She was born on June 06, 1941 to her parents, Hipolito and Justa Garcia. Her father was a horticulturist and from there she grew the love to sit under the shade of her fruit trees everyday. She moved to the USA for the first time in 1977. She came back years later and become a US citizen in 2004. She was a really strong woman raising all her children by herself.

She moved with her younger daughter and lived with her since she was 51 years old. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great GREAT grandchildren. Especially giving them a ride on her walker or chair and speeding away. Her favorite past time was spending time at “Home Depot” her code word for the casino. Taking pictures was her favorite, especially if it was anything nature… birds, trees, flowers fountains. You name it, she snapped it! she was a woman who knew what she wanted. She had her designated spot at the table, which she set herself. If you were in her spot you better be done eating or done scooting over by the time she rolled up. She had a certain brand of water bottle, certain gum, certain hair dye she knew what she liked and accepted nothing else. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Hipolito and Justa Garcia. Maria is survived by her children, Rosa, Xiomara, Thelma, Isabel, Amarilis, linda, Ameily and Walter, her 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She has left a legacy behind and wonderful memories that will never fade.
