Joseph A. Crivello, son of the late Joseph S. and Rose Crivello, passed away peacefully at UCSF Hospital on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was 87 years old. He is survived by his brother Anthony (Sue), nephew Michael (Jessica), niece Allison (Jay Schulist), great nephew Oliver Schulist and great nieces Emma Schulist and
Madison Crivello. He is also survived by his long time companion, Patricia McGuigan, and many cousins.
A native of San Francisco, born and raised in North Beach, he attended Sarah B. Cooper and John Hancock Elementary
Schools, Francisco Junior High School, and graduated from Galileo High School. He attended the University of San Francisco and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a teaching credential. He was hired by the San Francisco Unified School District for whom he worked for 38 years. He started as a teacher/counselor at Pelton and Portola Junior High Schools. He then became dean at Roosevelt Middle School. At Everett Middle School he was assistant principal and then principal. He completed his career as principal of A.P. Giannini Middle School. He had many colleagues and friends. He was a member of the United Administrators of San Francisco and the California Retired Teachers Association. Joe and Patricia were avid travelers, taking many trips throughout the United States and abroad. They were staunch supporters of the San Francisco Symphony attending many concerns and volunteering at special events. He was also a life long member and supporter of the Salesian Boys and Girls Club and Saints Peter and Paul Church. After retirement he became a Regent on the board of Hanna Boys Center. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. At Saints Peter and Paul Church, 660 Filbert St. S.F. at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salesian Boys and Girls Club 680 Filbert St., SF 94133 or Hanna Boys Center 17000 Arnold Dr., Sonoma, Ca, 95476
