John departed peacefully from this world at home, with those closest to him, his wife Laurinda and beloved son John Henry( Kadula ) holding his hands.
He was born and grew up in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest child of Charles and Julia Kadula( his grandparents from Poland and Ukraine ).
John enjoyed his annual fishing trips to King Salmon, Alaska, camping and fishing at Yellow Creek, many Death Valley trips, Yosemite, wild places, fishing with his buddies and time spent at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club. Included in his travels were what is known as “John and Laurinda’s Excellent Adventure”, in which something unexpected or a close call would occur. Rivers, their tranquility and flow, catch & release, barb-less hooks, preserving Alaska were important to John. Fly tying and fly fishing were a passion-he was always pleased to share his knowledge and magazines. Cooking great meals, completing crossword puzzles, a good discussion-along with the bonus of a disagreement, gave him pleasure. He was a lifelong NY Mets and Jets fan, as is his son. John had a wonderful speaking and singing voice. He studied opera, but decided he preferred the acting to the singing. He knew Shakespeare and the classics better than most. He was an opera goer; Laurinda learned to appreciate and enjoy it as well.
John had a life well lived. He was kind hearted, giving, down to earth, helpful to and considerate of others, with a sharp wit and intellect, a person of integrity. He made a difference. He was well loved and will be greatly missed.
