Born in San Rafael, Colin received his B.A. from San Francisco State in 1964. He went on to have a long teaching career at Galileo and George Washington before settling at Woodrow Wilson.
Colin was a self-taught film historian with an amazing knowledge of domestic and foreign films. He was an avid reader of all things and had wonderful friends all over the world from London to France to Australia. Above all, Colin loved living in San Francisco.
Colin’s dry sense of humor will be missed. He is survived by his sister Frances Thurlow Homen, his niece Christine Moore, his nephew Mark Homen (Julie), 4 great nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.
Colin is preceded in death by his partner of 20 years, Kenneth Matthews, as well as his niece Michele Hamilton.
Donations in Colin’s honor may be made to the Matthew Shepard Foundation and the S.F. Food Bank. At Colin’s request, there will be no services.
