It would be wrong of us to say that Virginia lost her battle with cancer because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she always had a lot of fight left in her. When anyone else would have crumbled, Virginia stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looked like. There was no quit in Virginia. She always provided support and love for her family. She made time for everyone and you could always count on a special phone call on your birthday. She and her husband Pilar worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children. She inspired and encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue their goals and dreams no matter how difficult and/or long the path seemed. For Virginia, her family and flower gardens meant everything.
Virginia is survived by her 6 children Rosa, Ruben, Norma, Jose Luis, Virginia and Liliana, her 14 grandchildren and her 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Pilar Lizarraga and her grandson Ruben Lizarraga, whom have been waiting patiently for her, for the past 11 years.
Just like a flower has many petals, Virginia had many great attributes that made her the special person that we all knew and loved. Every time we see or smell a flower, we will be reminded of your caring nature, strength and courage.
