Our loving, caring, and giving Steven John Evans left us to be with our Lord on December 29, 2023. Steven is survived by his mother Denise Hill, father John Evans, bonus mom Connie Evans, grandfather Monte Hill, ever loving siblings sister Mindy Erickson and husband John, brother Daniel Evans, brother Dustin Evans and wife Kelly, bonus brothers Joe Streeper and wife Amanda, and Jeff Streeper, nieces Shaelynn Evans, Emilie and Hannah Erickson, aunt and uncle Jim and Lory Hill, first cousins Kenny and Cherie Hill, aunt and uncle Tom and Karen Evans, along with a large congregation of cousins and extended family. Steven was preceded in death by his great grandmother Anna Inga and grandparents Aphinia Hill, Everett and Pearl Evans.
Steven was born in San Diego, raised in Pilot Mountain, NC before beginning a career in the Navy from 1999-2009, including time aboard the USS Kitty Hawk after 9/11. After Steven's Navy career, he continued working as a fighter jet mechanic and moving up into a supervisor role at Miramar Air Base.
Steven loved all sports, especially local San Diego teams. From up above, maybe Steven can put in a good word for the Padres. Steven was an avid golfer and was a youth star in both baseball and basketball. Steven competitively tried to beat his dad in all sports and games, where 99.9% of Steven's winnings came on the golf course.
Steven also had a passion for music and guitars, loved family time, insisted that Converse shoes be cleaned after each use, had to have clean and pressed clothes, and every hair in its proper place. Steven loved his moms chicken casserole, had a strong Catholic faith whose favorite prayer was the Our Father. Above all else, faith and family were first in his heart.
Steven will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Thank you Lord for the 42 years we were honored and blessed to share with Steven.
