As a life-long San Diegan, Rob enjoyed everything Southern California had to offer. He was an avid surfer and swimmer, and was a fixture at Ocean Beach in the summers. During the winter, he would display his aptitude for skiing, and had the good fortune of practicing his skills at his vacation home in Mammoth, and at exotic locales in Chamonix, Canada, and the Dolomites.
Rob attended San Diego State University and graduated with a BA in English. He began his career as an English teacher, then later transitioned to a job as a bail bondsman. He achieved rapid success due to his affable nature and his desire to help people. These characteristics were also evident in his personal life. Rob cherished his hunting trips with his father, Bob Ames. He was eternally devoted to his mother, and was a loving and loyal husband and friend.
Robert Ames is survived by his mother, Gay, his wife, Jennifer, brother-in-law, Greg Pierro, and his cousins: Jim Petersen, Mary Beth Petersen, Erin Petersen, and Dane Petersen. He is also survived by his two nieces, Madison and Elarie Pierro (who affectionately referred to him as "Uncle Pyle"), whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed by innumerable friends and former coworkers.
