Randy was born on August 19, 1950 in Arizona where his father was stationed in the Air Force. Randy lived in many different places with his family including Arizona, Idaho, Ohio, Tripoli, Georgia, Florida, Guam, Hawaii and California. He graduated in 1968 from Vanden High School in Fairfield, CA and enlisted in the Army in 1969. Randy served 1 year in Vietnam assigned to the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles Division. He was very proud to have served with the Screaming Eagles. He was awarded numerous medals for his service, including the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.
In 1972 Randy was honorably discharged from the Army and moved to Ocean Beach, CA. He attended San Diego Mesa College focusing on journalism and published several local magazine articles. He opened a small retail gift shop in Ocean Beach and later worked in graphic design. Randy was happiest when he was surfing or singing and playing his guitar.
Sadly, Randy passed away in the hospital on January 4, 2023. He is predeceased by his father, SMSgt Lloyd Golladay and niece Lisa Collins. He is survived by his mother, Agnes Golladay, sister Pamela Collins (David Collins), nephew Clain Collins (Tiffany Beddoes) and nieces Gina Collins (Matthew Scullard) and Taylor Collins (Scott Archer) and his dog Spunky.
